He's a fine actor and all... but WAY too scrawny to be Destro.

Now, if these two dudes were supposed to be Dr. Mindbender (JGL) and an unmasked Cobra Commander (Eccleston) we might have something here...

Yeah, I could see that. I actually like the way "the Doctor" looks in this pic. Definately not a great idea for Cobra Commander, but it might have worked for Mindbender. And Destro looks like a good bad guy there, but I'm not sure he'd be good for either Destro or Cobra Commander. But what can we do about it now.

Oh, and for the record, its not the guy that fixed Luke, its Plo Koon:

I can see both of them now, but Plo was what immediately came to mind. And maybe its because Plo is one of my favorite Jedi is why I like the design (again, not for Cobra Commander but as a bad guy design in general).

Nah, the full-fledged plastic Cobra Commander mask that he wears at the end is Plo Koon. This version looks more like Grand Moff Trachta from the Dark Horse Star Wars comics.

I saw the Trachta figure at Toys R Us the other
day and my friend said, "Isn't that the Doctor version
of Cobra Commander?" I mumbled something like,

Yes. Before he takes over M.A.R.S., renames it COBRA and announces himself as The Commander, he is The Doctor and uses his "nano-mite" technology (straight from the pages of Devil's Due Retardation) to take over.

But it's even worse than that!

Before he was known as "The Doctor", he was just Rex... Duke's best friend, Baroness' brother and a U.S Soldier who is believed dead. I ^^^^ you not!
