Well my 2 cents says it looks crappy. It amazes me how companies can have a top notch franchise, but can't make a good cartoon to save their lives. Who's in charge of this stuff? They were better off almost doing a cartoon re-boot of the original series.

Transformers Prime looks like it is geared to pre-schoolers.

Edit - Like Transformers meets Bratz.

Hub's Cobra Industries commercial was kind of funny.

Dr. Mindbender was the worst. He looks like this:

I just don't get why they didn't do a Resolute prequel series. Or just make the Resolute movie non-cannon and make a series in that style. That was the best thing to happen to GI Joe in a long time. This is just as bad as RoC! :yuck

I don't know if this is a rhetorical question or not, but what happened since the 80s that animation has gone to crap? Is it a style thing, a budget thing, or what?

I wonder how many kids even like GI Joe today. All cartoons since 1987 (DIC series, Sygma Six, etc.) except for Resolute have sucked. And then there's ROC....

I watched it with my 10yr old son last night and we both really liked it. He even went to the website after the show to play Tatics. I loved Resolute but I didn't let my son watch it, it's cool I can watch this series with him.

I've been collecting Joes since the mid 70's and I've seen them do A LOT worse to the brand.

The boots were just for the underground Cobra lab scene.

I watched about 5 minutes of it and couldn't take it any more. I actually felt bad for the original series.

Atleast somebody gets it.

Hasbro is targeting YOUNG children. they seem to be enjoying it.

I saw it this morning, animation is bad, not just the style but a choppiness from having less imbetweens and incorrect perspective on the figures within the same frame.

The nickname thing just made me cringe. Why did they have to make a big deal out of it, just assume they're codenames and have that be the end of it. The laser guns and slime monsters were unnecessary.
As a kid, if I can watch movies like Predator, The Terminator, and Aliens and enjoy the hell out of it, then they don't have to dumb down the story just to appeal to kids. A good story well told will appeal to everyone.

The one thing that did bother me was that the toys for Renegades won't be on sale till fall of 2011. I would have thought that a show that began as a way to sell toys to kids would have them on the shelf for the brand relaunch/series premiere and Christmas. :slap I want a Renegade Snake Eyes now.:impatient:

it is what it is. Hasbro has always had this concept of " it's for kids, they don't care about the quality". I've not seen it ye, so i don't know if it's slop or not.
I will say that the animation style fits with the current trend of animation for children.

I wish Hasbro would abandon animated programs (and the live action movies) for G.I. JOE and combine the Call of Duty franchise with their line.
