i have a free rental i was going to use at blockbuster on the way home to rent it. i'm still not sure that i want to see it.

It's not worth the free rental. If you pick up a monthly rental pass, and already have rented enough movies to pay for the pass, then, maybe...

yah, i have a free one or two a month plus whatver i get from returning the online/thru-the-mail movies.

It was alright for what I expected from the movie. I anticipated, just like Transformers, a silly action movie based on a toy line, this one havinggotten it's start 45 years ago. And I was cool with it. I can honestly say that I have seen many MUCH, MUCH worse movies than this.

And honestly, the history of the characters being added in to the movie was so completely un-necessary that it really is not worth mentioning.

It really seems to me that this thread is more about dogging on the movie to show off who knows more about a completely unimportant history of fictitious toy characters than it is actually pointing out poor movie-making.

And I found something to love about the movie. My 10-year-old son LOVED it! He was excited through the whole thing and it was cool watching him enjoy it like he did. I don't see him beaming with excitement like that often enough. And for that reason, this movie earned it's place on my DVD shelf.

Only do so if you're able to compartmentalize the mildly good from the very, very bad. I was able to do that, but few others have. The special effects are TV movie quality and the acting is much, much worse. If you can enjoy silly and dismissable adaptations like David Hasselhoff as Nick Fury and Batman & Robin you might have a chance of enjoying ROC. :lol

I don't think you read very well. :dunno

Have you read this thread? We dissected every square inch of this film for months.

Why rehash all of the data & discussion points? They're all right here in the thread.

But to boil it down to bare minimum...

It's an absolutely abysmal "G.I. JOE" movie, period.

However, it's also a bad movie just on its own flimsy merits. (Design, Directing, FX, Script, Acting, Editing, etc)

I wasn't around for the original film-bashing. And I have only just seen the movie for the first time. And if any rehashing of the specific discussion points gets done...it will not be by me. But yes, I did read it. And I did see the marginal attempts to dog the cinematography. But it still seems to me that overall the (vast) majority of the complaining was more about this movie not matching the die-hard Joe fans interpretation of the material.

I am doing nothing more than expressing my opinion. If you guys can't let that go...don't blame me.

I can let it go. And I'll show that by being out of this thread now.

It's funny though, how you seem to fail in understanding that we were discussing a poorly written screen play which was further developed into a poor film and diluted it by comparing our discussions to a G.I. Joe trivia pissing contest. If you were able to enjoy some mindless fun with the kid, then great! But don't turn around and get butthurt when we call you on devaluing our opinions after faulting us for having issues with a film titled after a license it barely reflected and poorly represented. That's the pot calling the kettle black.

watched it last night. lots of explosions and herky jerky camera work. seriously, if we are going to have this 'epic' fight b/w se and ss pull the friggin' camera back so we can actually see the martial arts, moves, etc. head shots during fights = the suck. every possible thing that can be said about this moive has already been said, for either good or bad, so i'm not going to rehash anything but ulitmately finished it without caring one way or the other.

It is a movie to see , without the brain.

Jajajajaja sweet jesus !!! my score to GI Joe is : 1 1/2 of 5 .:emperor

Its a terrible movie and had nothing to do with GIJOE. That said my wife and I laughed at SE everytime he was on screen. It was somewhat entertaining.

and what was with the space battle.. um I mean underwater battle???

Just watched it. What a piece of ????! Too much wrong with this movie to list. I was never a fan of the cartoon, which I thought contributed to my dislike of the movie, but reading this thread leads me to believe knowledge of the source material would not have been helpful.

They had Larry ****ing Hama, the writer of the marvel comic book series, the new IDW Origins AND the original file cards, on set as an adviser. You can't get much more knowledgeable than that. And despite having him, it still turned out to be a ****stain.

The first fly by scene in Egypt was painfull to watch, especially the ?????ty music to go along with the sub-par CG..movie suuuuuuccckkks my hairy brains!!.
