Sadly, I think several of the older Joe fans will look at it as, "Well, this is all we get, so let's make the best of it." Doesn't make the hardcore fans boycott it people who can't handle change. I know I could've lived with an updated look for some of the characters, but they've stripped the RAH soul straight out of it, just like Hollywood did with the live-action Street Fighter movie. The similarities are glaring. Remember, they made the Street Fighters a UN force and changed Guile to a Belgian American, E Honda to a Hawaiian, M. Bison to a weakly Spanish dude, etc, etc., then packed it with cheesy one-liners thinking the audience would dig it. Did the same thing here...
Case in point, how Baroness calls the two new
UN soldiers "Real American Heroes" in a cheesy nod to the figures or when Ripcord goes to touch Heavy Duty's buzz cut and HD grabs his hand midway and squeezes it - insert sucktastic "kung fu grip" remark... the movie's full of these groaners.
