Re: I know it's only 12 reviews, but I am a bit shocked!

I didn't see the movie and it stinks, worst movie I never seen.

Re: I know it's only 12 reviews, but I am a bit shocked!

Y'know thats the funny thing...it felt longer then TF2...even though it wasnt....?

That most likely has everything to do with editing. The shorter they cut shots, the shorter the movie feels, the longer the shots are, the longer the movie feels.
I noticed this when I was watching the obnoxiously edited Houseguest staring Sinbad and Phil Hartman. Fast editing is a pet peeve of mine.

Re: I know it's only 12 reviews, but I am a bit shocked!

Just got back from watching it with Incurable and IronJedi and honestly...
I enjoyed it quite a bit!!
I think it captures the essence of the cartoon much better than TF2...
And it's not as annoying!!
Everybody talked so much crap about it... including myself at one point,
that I was expecting utter ^^^^... but it was very enjoyable... love the Baroness and the Storm Shadow/Snake Eyes story was great!
Cobra Commander is actually a great character, despite the outfit...
I enjoyed this one more than Wolverine and TF2... it does have plenty of flaws and plot-holes, but overall a solid summer flick... :D

Thanks for the feedback. I might go see it.

Got to check out Storm Shadow - one of my favorite Korean actor. He's going to be in the newest action drama Iris:

If you don't know him, he's the star in one of the best action movie, A Bittersweet Life.

Well said, fair enough review.

I appreciated the energy and momentum of it all, a locomotive on the brink of derailing but staying its course all the way towards its destination.

For some, that train derailed before it ever took off and for others who have seen it, the train didn't arrive for them as well but I'll respect the ones who have seen and hated it but for me, i'll board that bad boy one more time, have to take the wife now.

LOCOmotive for sure though, Sommer's got some set of cahunas on him for delivering something so full of raucous entertainment.

Not for nothing, this had one of the highest body counts I've seen in a movie for quite sometime, heck....even cars get killed when they ran out of soldiers to kill....:lol

What a naughty little movie that was, leather'd girls beating the snot out of each other, ninjas beating the snot out of each other, children beating the snot out of each other, melting soldiers, french turned into fries, car destruction porn and thunderball on roids!

That and the white Bentley Rolls Supercar (whatever that beast was) and the black high heels that came out from inside it gave me a boner :horror

Thank you Dr. Zizmor....my pimple is finally gone!

This was the best movie ever. What a great script. The acting and casting superb, and the special effects were very believable, especially the jet flying scenes. I was like, that's so real, I could almost touch it.

I think we may have a toys to film flick that may see some Oscar gold! :joy

 :monkey4

You just killed Jesus.

Just him.......I didn't even take out any politicians along with him....

Crap, not even the directors of Catwoman and Elektra....

Boooooo

Oh well, I guess I'll settle for baby J then....

I liked it!!!!
Lots of action, great laughs, hot cleavage shots!!!!

Re: I know it's only 12 reviews, but I am a bit shocked!

Okay, I am a life long fan of G.I. Joe from the original 1960's Joe to RAH and even Sigma 6 and Resolute. I have kept up with all of the comics and I believe I have a pretty good handle of the property and I have to throw my hand in with the positive reviews.

I loved it.

I thought I would hate it , I thought the armored suits were cool but just would not fit in with Joe and all of the changes would make for G.I. Joe poison.

Man, was I wrong.

I want to tell all of my friends who were against this film to go and see it, that it is nothing like Revenge of the Fallen, that Sommers might actually get the spirit of Joe and most of all this was a pretty good action film.
I want to see it again and for me that is the most important thing.

Re: I know it's only 12 reviews, but I am a bit shocked!

I'm upset with what they did with Cover Girl, The movie was OK... not great, not horrible.

Re: I know it's only 12 reviews, but I am a bit shocked!

This and Wolverine are easily my top two of the summer.

Re: I know it's only 12 reviews, but I am a bit shocked!

For me it felt liberating going to see this knowing only that GI J was a toy line and cartoon and nothing else.

I didn't know enough to care about who covergirl was and what they did to her or that SE had a mouth blah blah blah, it was just a fun action movie for me.

Now, being mostly a Marvel fanboy, I very well know what it's like to have something you cherish being messed with.

So that's why it was nice yesterday to just sit and relax and enjoy the military/Sci-fi elements of the movie not even knowing who SE was other than him being one bad ass ninja commando!

James Bond, eat your heart out.

^^^^, if I was between 10 and 15, this would be the BEST movie ever made!

As an adult, i'll just settle for it being a really good action movie with lots of cool explosions and those were just the breasts....there were lots of gunfire as well.....:lol

The movie overall was bad.An average action flick...but not great.

A lot of the lines were forced...Channing Tatum is a TERRIBLE actor. I can't take Marlon Wayans seriously as he was trying to be in some parts...he's mostly comic relief. There just overall was a lot of corniness and unbelievable parts...GI Joe is supposed to be a top secret unit yet they let Destro - a PUBLIC businessman know they recovered his warheads...WHAT?

The chemistry was much better for the COBRA team. I was actually surprisingly pleased with Zartan who may not have looked the part but his whistle was the one thing that sort of made him stand out...plus he was ruthless.

Snake-Eyes and Storm Shadow were bad ass and I was always excited to see them on-screen together. You could tell the history between those two and I'm glad they translated it as well as they did. The actor who played Storm Shadow did a great job and I think he was one of the best in the film...at least he conveyed his character well.

And the ending was sort of silly..COBRA emerges then BOOM! JAIL!

DID ANYONE NOTICE THE PLOT WAS SIMILAR TO "TEAM AMERICA: WORLD POLICE"? One of my friends noted that.

They both blow up the Eiffel Tower, they both get their bases torn up and destroyed, they BOTH have the transmorification (or whatever) scene. Hahaha.
