Anybody know/think the saga shin is any good?

For a 4-5" PVC figure, it looks great in photos, decent paint, detailed sculpt, film accurate proportions, my only real nitpick is the first spine behind his head seems a but oversized, otherwise good. I have the atomic ray variant on order at BBTS, I'd pay around $30 total for it easily, eBay prices for the original at one point were asking around $70, no way at that price.

You and me both. This will supposedly release in December, so check Yahoo Japan Auctions, like I plan to. Otherwise, I've heard a rumor Kaiyodo might be releasing a kit of this in vinyl next year. So there is that. Its funny. This Kaiyodo replica of the maquette is vinyl, not resin. Hell, in the photos below you can see the plumber's foam inside the parts, just like the which X Plus uses in their Gigantic series figures.

Its actually a little bit taller than the X Plus Gigantic Burning Godzilla 1995.

I hope that means it would be cheaper. But if it's being released in vinyl potentially isn't that in essence the same thing as it is coming out in december?

Yeah, the rumor is that it'll be about $500 or so but it will be a vinyl kit as opposed to being already painted like the one in the pics above coming out in December for $1000. Kaiyodo ain't cheap.

Ohhhhh....yeah crap I'm going to need it painted lol might as well get it now

It looks bad ass in his hands like that lol.

What an awesome job to have.

So what do you do for a living?

I'm a data analyst, you?

I build ****ing GODZILLA'S

He's a pretty bad-azz sculptor/designer. Just google image search 'takayuki takeya book' to see a smattering of the stuff he's done.

Seeing that Kaiyodo piece in his hands really does make the X-Plus look inaccurate by comparison. I almost want to dump the idea of X-Plus completely and just wait for this guy.

I don't think so either. I'll just hope this vinyl rumor is true. While expensive, it sounds like it's still within the realm of possibility - unlike the resin version...

Kaiyodo's main product line has always been vinyl kits, I'm sure one will come, this is just a premium version for collectors who want that. Some of my most favorite Godzillas are Kaiyodo vinyls.

The vinyl version may be ever so slightly smaller as well with softer detail. I still wouldn't spend a grand on a resin gozi kit.

What about 10 grand? Cause that's what the unpainted resin one costs. :gah: Of course that is $30,000 cheaper than the life size 1991 Godzilla being released by Tamashii Nations. :thud:
