I wonder why 2014 was so much more expensive than gmk and 54? From an anatomical standpoint, shin looks like their best figure yet by far.

I saw that Albatross as well. :clap I've already cancelled my X-Plus figure, and I can't say I'm torn up about it at all. I've got the Banpresto, which is almost the same size and much better-looking (IMO). We'll see what new figures come out of the woodwork sort of speak.

I'm not going to comment on the Albatross Shin specifically, but in general, Albatross figures aren't that great. They've gotten a little better over the years, but they have a problem with general proportions and to a lesser extent detail. I wanted to get their 91 Ghidorah, but just too many inaccuracies.

Agreed, looking at their Shin from the front, they seem to have really slimmed out his lower body and almost made the overall proportions more balanced. Nothing wrong with that, some may like it, for me, it doesn't really feel like Shin anymore when you change that.

In other news, latest rumor I'm hearing is that Bandai may have put a halt on the MKS figures and are retooling it to be a better representation and that's why most orders haven't been filled yet. I take this with a huge grain of salt because I've never heard of a company putting something out like this then bringing it to a halt and releasing a better product, but if the rumor is true and the product below is what's coming out, I'll be even more glad that A) I got an order in with BBTS for the MKS figure, and B) that I didn't get one out of the first batch, I wonder if Bandai will offer any option for those that got the original version to get the new one, again, if this is all true. I'll still be happy to get the MKS looking the way it originally did, but I really want the figure below and if it ended up not being a second figure or some rare thing I couldn't easily obtain, that'd be just fine with me.

Anybody got an idea of when shin will be on video?

I'm just guessing but a Japanese release should be in a few months, hopefully January or February (but its doubtful that release will have English subtitles). A US release probably is over a year out or more looking back at how Funimation released the first part of the Attack on Titan film (over a year from the initial Japanese release) and especially with pretty much all of their anime releases. Hopefully, an overseas Blu-Ray/DVD release in either Hong Kong, China or greater Asia will be only a month or so after the Japanese release and will have English subtitles. Keep a look out at places like Amazon, CDJapan, or YesAsia.

Ughhhh and I had a chance to see it a few weeks back but just couldn't. Oh well. Thanks

Was at Chiller Theatre this weekend, and had a chance to discuss SHIN GODZILLA with some long-time G-fans that I've known for over 20 years. The film appears to be very divisive, but we all agree that Toho has done something rather brilliant in allowing WB to establish their own series, while they embark on a new, possibly more japanese-centric series.

so Monsterarts showed off the new concept poster mechagodzilla

SH-MonsterArts-Tamashii-Mix-Mechagodzilla-Poster-Ver.jpg

In the poster he's shown to be able to transform, one half making an battle plane and the other half making a tank. People are saying this might be able to do that. Figure looks cool, the eyes look weird to me, the eye socket is too big and I think the paint looks to clean. Otherwise it looks great.

Looks like a cheap 80s toy to me. And not nearly as menacing as the poster.

For me the paint has alot to do with that, he looks clean, if he looked more industrial like in the poster he'd look better. Right now I'll think about picking it up with the idea of doing a dirty wash effect on him and see if there's a way to improve the eyes.

I thought the trendmasters version looked meaner given the size and value lol

I Fing loved that figure when I was a kid, that line was awesome, I think it was one of the last ones trendmasters did. Looking at picks of Monsterarts other Mechagodzilla I'm going to stand by my paint issue, the other mechagodzilla or Kiryu if you want has a dirty metal paint application which goes a long way to selling the menacing look that MG is supposed to have. This one shares a similar paint look to the MG 2 which to me isn't ideal for this design.
