The X-Plus Death Ghidorah is also up for pre-order.

Oh man, that thing is glorious. It makes me wonder if they are going to take any creative liberties with Ghidorah in the new godzilla film, I really wouldn't mind something like this.

Also, the 2002 is overall bulkier looking in the body, the 2000 maquette was pretty slim by Godzilla standards. I'm actually a little interested in this one, I had an 8" Bandai once but sold it and miss having it.

That's my main thing, it pretty much looks like a bulkier version from these photos, I'm still interested but as someone that doesn't much like more than one version of a character on my shelf I'm not sure if this is different enough to warrant adding another Godzilla. I still want to add the 54 and GMK godzilla to my monsterarts collection
and I'm getting the poster version of Mechagodzilla today, which I can't freaking wait for, but I'm glad it seems the monsterarts line isn't dead and they are continuing to make figures for the line.

It'd be cool for them to play up the extraterrestrial nature of Ghidorah. Nothing too crazy, but enough so it doesn't just look like your run-of-the-mill Earth dragon.

To me, that Ghidorah looks like something out of Harry Potter. I grew up on the gold Ghidorah and the other designs just feel to different to call Ghidorah.

I have both of those and they are glorious. GMK is one of my favorite Godzillas and SH did a great job
on the figure.

I think you are right to some extent. I like it nonetheless, and I'm hoping this will lead to a release of Grand King Ghidorah which is a more traditional incarnation.

Got the Monsterarts MechaGodzilla poster version yesterday. Gotta say at first I was disappointed, the chest had strange gaps once he was assembled but then I realized I didn't have him transformed right. Once I had him properly set up things went into place a lot better. Still I would have preferred a solid figure instead of three transforming parts, probably would have made for a better more solid figure as I can't see anyone actually displaying him in the vehicle forms once they put him together. He comes in the three separate vehicle out of the box but I was able to do the transformation without instructions, only realized I didn't finish it when I compared the figure to the box cover. All in all I'm totally happy with it but I don't see this being a figure that a casual godzilla fan would want, I grew up with the poster so this was something I was going to love, I even like the little comic book that it came with that depicts a little kid being disappointed when he sees MechaG in the movie as he's holding the art print this figure is based on in his hand and then be grows up to be a designer at Bandai and he gets to actually create the figure of the version of MechaG he thought he was going to see when he saw the film when he was a kid, cool touch.

Now time for pictures! he's pretty fun to play around with, I'll give it that. I'll post one pic and put the rest in a spoiler tag so I don't ruin the page with a bunch of pics.

Wonder if X-Plus is getting too big to handle their work load, that exclusive is just horrible for the price they cost.

From an outsider looking in perspective, I don't collect any vinyls or anything Godzilla related except Monsterarts b/c I like articulation, I honestly have no idea why these things cost so much at all. Getting a bad paint job on top of it is just ridiculous, these are like 1/4 scale statue prices.

I agree, the best painted X-Plus doesn't feel like something that should cost what it does, but at least there's a trend with them as a company, but now it almost seems like there's no QC or effort to deliver a product worthy of the price.

I think they tried to rush this too much. They were taken by surprise by the number of orders and just botched it.

Hey Clutch, you got any pics of how this mod turned out?

I do not. This vinyl is thick and has good memory. That and gravity caused it to go back the way it was. A permanent solution would be to do some cutting and re-sculpting but I don't want to do that.

I understand that. I'm still getting the RIC Gig Shin, even though I am not completely satisfied
with the paint job in the recent photos. I will be displaying him in my living room, which is not
super brightly lit, so I think it will look ok.
While waiting for the RIC to be released, I decided to take the plunge and get the standard. It is
truly an awesome figure and pics do not do it justice. I'm hoping the same is true for the RIC. Here
are a few pics of my standard. I was pleased that mine does not have the overbite.
