This is turning out to be a heck of a year for KingGoji. So far, there's the NECA, the S.H.M., the X-Plus FSL figure, and now Yuji Sakai has a new kit coming out (that will undoubtedly be adapted by X-Plus at some point).

I'm sure someone has already posted this here, but in case not--there's a pretty neat looking Kong kit in the works too.

Not sure what I think of the Kong kit. The fur detail is a little soft even for a vinyl. I do love the fact that it comes with the arm extensions. Wish they would have shown at least one shot with them attached. May have to consider it for that fact alone. Of course, I'd buy it and the next day, X-Plus would announce theirs with the long arms being the RIC exclusive.

It's hard to beat the one I already have.

Haha! Nice. The ol' tree-in-the-mouth wins every time. And like you mentioned, it was the set of long arms that really got my attention. Hopefully X-Plus does do something like that in the future...

I really hope that xplus does a favorite sculptor line 84 one if these days, the 30 cm one is good but I think they could do much better. Something like the mm28 kit would be nice

I've been hoping that for a while and they do seem to be using a lot of MM28 kits recently.

Personally, I've been wanting to see them do Sakai's '84 and MM28's '65 and '74. However, since Sakai based his '84 on the Shinjuku suit and MM28 did the suit from the power plant scene, there's always the possibility for both. Rumor has it that companies like to make money...

Either one is a very good representation, normally Sakai wins my vote in any discussion :lol, but in this case, MM28 sculpt is at Sakai level, and Sakai's 30cm '84 bares a heavy resemblance to the 8" Kaiyodo kit of his, so I'd prefer to see MM28 for variety sake.

What does Sakais kit look like again? I cant seem to find it.

I was thinking to myself that a lot of collectors might be too young to remember those old Kaiyodo kits, but they all got rereleased a year or two ago, didn't they? 😏 Well, nevermind.

'62 NECA showing up for preorder:

While I have a few NECA's, I really have leaned towards Monsterarts and wasn't a huge fan of NECA's. But seeing both in person at SDCC and especially considering the price difference I think NECA's 1962 is the one I'm going with. It's just not worth the extra money to me if the NECA paint job turns out as good as the showroom sample did.
