I just got off the phone with Jennifer from SS and 500 will be the entire amount made....a certain portion of that # will be alloted to international buyers through their retailers...

Got my order in. If it's "just" 500 pieces I'll play it safe, I will most probably regret not ordering it. If I change my mind it's woth the $30 non refundable deposit

If 500 is the entire edition size, then I certainly can hold off on ordering a second one and giving someone else a chance. Hopefully this will mean I have more room for other hobbits in the Premium Format line in the near future!

I'm not interested in being a LOTR PF completest. I don't own any yet, but I would like to own ONE.


Can't decide if this should be the definitive LOTR PF for me though...

Gollum looks fantastic, but out of all of the LOTR PF's produced thus far, Gandalf is easily the most iconic as a standalone piece.

Gollum is almost two for the price of one though!

It's a good PF just a bad paintjob. And as for definitive PF that would probably be Gandalf the Grey in terms of character at least.

i would say Aragorn, other than froto and gandalf, he's pretty much the main character in each movie and out of the three, he's the best PF statue imo.

The way I read the preview e-mail (and the previous LOTR pre-orders) is that we will get the preorder this week, not a preview. This piece has been previewed in the Sideshow Sneak Peek Video, and typically LOTR stuff doesn't rate a preview and then the Priority Pre-Order fervor.

Even though the piece is still just Gollum, with two sculpts, I still think the differences are large enough that I might consider both the regular and the exclusive to display both....It is certainly more than a swap out hand. My check book hopes that I only want the one though!!
