500 ES total is really small for a big character. All those that predicted that the new cancellation policy will affect edition sizes were correct.

I am surprised by the small ES. Was hoping to pick up a regular to tell you the truth. I could understand if this was Merry or Pippin but Gollum? Just glad I got one on order.

Low edition size could be a sign of the line coming to an end also. This is how Sideshow has ended lines in the past. Not saying it is, but its a distinct possibility.

Well they have shown another Orc in the works and confirmed there would be a dark rider (assume Ringwraith on steed) so I hope the line is far from dead. In many ways its been the most consistently good line.

Well taking account the sneaks and hints of future PF's and the current Q&A I highly doubt this line is anywhere near the end.

So that's how they'll justify a PF price! Just add lots of rocks!
But i do agree, the edition size etc etc makes the price worthwhile. And the 'Smeagol' version will look good ontop of those rocks, like he's ontop of Mount Doom.
It's funny, for the Frodo vs Gollum diorama, we wanted more base, and this one seems to have used up the allowance for both diorama and PF!
All these PF's are going to look amazing together when all is done. PF's still aren't my cup of tea though, i prefer smaller statues. So bring on more maquettes!

Man, I hope not...not before we get a PF Gimli to go with the Leggy and Aragorn at the very least. Saruman would be a welcome addition too.

This is a very low edition size in comparison..... there's so many more SS can make that people want and hopefully these lower #'s will mean they will all sell out...

I hope so, but no one can claim that LOTR is the sales jauggernaut it once was.
That said, an amazing PF like Gandalf and Gollum (so far) can really jolt this line; while the ML (to most) kinda stalls it. The dio line had a real chance I think but all it took were some questionable scenes/characters/lack of environment and it hit a major bump.

Thats the truth. After Gandalf and now seeing Gollum, I am really wanting to jump deeper into this line, but I just dont have the room anymore. But I agree 100%, these could really breath new life into the line.
