At first I thought the base was far too tall, but then I looked at my display cabinet and decided that this was tall enough to display behind the Frodo PF and he would look nice leering behind him.

I like the concept of including a base for the alternate sculpt so that it isn't hidden away in the box (or so you don't need to purchase two statues).

Will the international retailers buy theirs to sell out of the same edition of 500?

well, i broke down and ordered a second gollum pf...I want a full statue of gollum and a full statue of smeagol, not just a bust with the extra piece...

One thing noticed is that neither nameplate has the name of which movie the PF is from. With all the other PF's the name of the movie has been written on the nameplate.

Thats the truth. After Gandalf and now seeing Gollum, I am really wanting to jump deeper into this line, but I just dont have the room anymore. But I agree 100%, these could really breath new life into the line.

You could always dump those Darkness busts.

I'm a bit confused by what this domestic exclusive means?
Does this mean this will only sell from Sideshow, so you have to order it directly from them?

Also my ideas or guesses as to why it might be a small ES size and the deposit, is maybe they aren't doing so great, and need to protect themselves, and no need to make too many of something when alot of things lately don't seem to sell out or won't sell out ie That new Mummy PF.

In the US, you can only get it directly from Sideshow. International customers will be able to buy it from overseas stores/retailers who carry/sell Sideshow products.

I placed my order just a little while ago and it suddenly hit me like a ton of bricks - if, during an event where several pieces are put up for order (SDCC, etc), there are a lot of low ES exclusives requiring a NRD, it is REALLY going to have a big effect on how many are ordered. Who wants to dish out $100-$150 (or more) for exclusives that, when the time comes to ship, may have to be canceled due to unforseen circumstances?

You can order it. US customers can ONLY order through Sideshow, whereas everyone outside the US can either order through Sideshow or a local dealer.
