Your points are completely valid and I'm with you 100% in wanting to buy collectibles for as cheaply as possible. Here's a thought......open up a bank acct. and put in it all the money you save when the exchange rate works to your favour [which it will 50% of the time] and use that money to cover the costs of any 10% NRD.

Yes, I have thought of 'investing' in some USD.... maybe I can start a side job, currancy trader. That's a sure fire way to go broke, isn't it

Where the hell is the second base? Seems like an important detail to not have a picture of since being able to display both is the justification for the 300 price tag.

Sideshow can't be bothered to

a) take a picture.

b) give a simple reply as to why there's no pic?

They pretty much KNOW that collectors will HATE it...so they won't show it until right before shipping notices. Of course...I am only kidding, but it is getting a bit redonculous.

At least tell us what it is SUPPOSED to look like...a concept sketch...something.

Yeah, that is definitely not going to happen. Just the torso comes off and I have no intention of displaying Smeagol without legs anyway so I have no need to see the extra base. Bought this for the Gollum, pretty much. Unless it is the lava base idea mentioned. Then, maybe.

For the price, it should be similar to this, but it's not going to be so I'm not going to even hope for it. I'm sure it will just be some kind of a little stand that will hold the torso. I won't use it if it is because it would look silly.

I have no idea what SS has in mind for the 2nd base, though I do hope it does somehow incorporate the 2nd nameplate. I've fired off a question to SS concerning this and at the rate they answer our LOTR-related questions I fully expect a response from them in about 6 months.

Of course it's not going to look like that, isn't it just for displaying the upper body?

I expect it to look like a mini bust with the base.
