****ing stupid. I don't know why they continue to sabotage themselves.

They did that with Justice League Unlimited where characters that appear on the Nolan movies and the 2004 "The Batman" cartoon were off limits, hence why many Bat characters just disappeared halfway trough and the stories altered.

Having Gotham's Joker to not use the name and the green hair (plus having the actor apologize on their behalf) because stupid condom-in-a-box Leto is in current tenure is just an insult to fans and a huge disservice to the character because this kid is FANTASTIC. Shame on you DC.

They did the same thing with Waller and Deadshot on Arrow--booted them off the show so they could use them in Suicide Squad. But for some reason, that rule doesn't apply to having a Flash on TV and a Flash in a film. :dunno None of their decisions make sense.

Agreed.

Pure green was off-limits to us (as well as the name “Joker”), a decision from high-up as they wanted to reserve these for films. A decision which ultimately I respect.’ ‘They did not want to dilute the very lucrative brand. It allowed for creativity on our end,’

Of course not, Cameron. They love pissing in their own pond.

I'm convinced that "Batman" is off limits too, so we'll probably never see him in Gotham when it concludes next year. Brilliant.

Exactly what I was thinking. I don't get the thinking. If they are separate universes and do not tie in to each other, then what the hell is the problem? Man, I was always DC over marvel, but they are really trying hard to make me change my vote.

They'll probably end the show with a pull away shot of the Gotham skyline and Batman silhouetted on a rooftop or him jumping off a roof and his cape spread out behind him. Smallville gave us Clark opening his shirt to show the "S" and then horrible CGI of Superman doing super things from a distance.

The DC/Bat-embargo has been around for over a decade and there are plenty discussions online to just what it is. No one knows except that it does indeed exist where DC would forbid a character from appearing on a TV show because of a movie featuring said character. It makes no sense and it doesn't seem apply to videogames.

I'm a DC guy though and trough, I read some Marvel comics as a kid but DC will always be my DNA. I piss on the DCEU not to hate, but express disappointment on badly they've butchered the stories and characters. The new Avengers made more money in 6 days than the entire run of JL, and yet they'll never learn because they're ran by clueless apes. This Joker embargo is just another example on them betting on the blatantly wrong horse.

WB is still betting on a race that happened 10 races ago :lol

Wow. Too bad, he’s so much better than SS Joker. That’s show business!

The first episode he was in he was better than Letto. When they are grilling him about his mom being killed at the circus and he's all sad and crying then they call him on it and he turns on a dime into..... (I'm going to say it even if they cant)...... THE JOKER.

Anyone remember that episode of Friends with Brooke Shields? She plays an unstable girl who thinks Joey really is Doctor Drake Ramoray and gets confused and perplexed when she visits him at his apartment and sees him on the television at the same time, she can't understand how it's possible. It's like DC thinks its audience is like that.

No spoilers so go ahead and read if you're inclined:

Just finished the season finale and I thought it was as usual, pretty darn good. With only 13 episodes next season, it's really is on a fast track to conclude everything. I'm glad I didn't quit the show back in Season 1 (almost wanted to!) because this is my favorite thing that DC if currently offering. It's not a perfect show, but it's damn entertaining and is leagues ahead of the current DCEU films. DC should just stick to TV.

Their decision to not use “Joker” on television because there is also one in the current movies is just dumb in principle, especially given that they’ve already broken their own rule with Superman, Flash, and Deathstroke. It also projects the idea that they have to protect their investment in the movies because they have zero faith in their own shows being good.
On the other hand, the actor playing Jerome/Jeremiah is one of the high points on a show that’s all over the place in terms of writing and tone. I just finished watching the season finale, and there are a few great characters on the show, but it still feels like a show that doesn’t know what it wants to be. I don’t expect any adaptation to be exactly the same as the source material, but some of the characters on Gotham don’t appear to have anything in common with their comic book counterparts other than their name. So maybe when it comes to not letting them use the name “Joker” on Gotham, in this case Warner Bros. is accidentally right.

Bruce looks like he's ready to take on the rogues but he barely had any training.

Will his journey towards training to be batman be shown towards the end of the next season or will he transit into batman directly from where he is now?

And the last season won't premiere until 2019. So 2019 will end AOS, Gotham and GOT..

I've actually never bought that kid as Batman and from what I heard he was never going to be Batman, he would put on the cowl in the last scene of the series since the show is about Gordon and Gotham not Batman. But I bet they fast track it now and he does show up as full blown Batman for at least a few episodes.

I thought out of all the DC Shows Gotham was the best, it had issues but at least it was fairly consistent throughout it's run... Arrow and Flash were awesome the first two seasons and then both shows nosed dived hardcore into cheesiness and stupidity with their writing and choice of characters they brought into the shows... I gave up on Supergirl after they decided to make Superman look a wuss so they could make Supergirl look stronger then him... So it wasn't hard to figure out which direction that show was going in and who they were catering too....

Yeah DC seems to shoot itself in the foot.... Warner Brothers for a long time let DC do their own thing but after Justice League their starting to step in.... So far they got rid of Snyder and the person who was in charge of all the DC movies...
