Green Lantern---Blackest Night (Spoilers)

Well I've been busy with work so I'm not all caught up yet. Read the GL Corp as that has been the only book in 2 weeks really advancing the story. Pretty much anything but GL, GLC, and BN are just fillers.

My LCS keeps selling out of Booster Gold #27! I went in late last week because of work and today this week and they are still out Its the only one I need to get caught up. Whats the deal with the lack of Booster? They still got last month's so its not like they didn't order enough.

CTR has new pics of the wave 5 figures and Mongul. Mongol is a bit disapointing as he looks to just be a repaint. His rings aren't even sculpted, they are just painted on. But I'll still get him, I'm just disapointed DCD didn't go the extra mile and sculpt some rings at least.

That Mongul looks cheap. Glad I don't get the DCD figures as I'd be extremely disappointed.
BBTS has a pre-order up for a set of all the rings that light up when you put them on. For $49.99, I'm thinking about it...

Wow! I definately see some new figure potential there! Especially that Sinestro! I'm a little confused by the Star Sapphire though.

Just one more week! Good thing too, I've got like 10 issues to catch up on. Work has been a nightmare and I've had like zero free time to sit down and read these. Hopefully I'll get some time this weekend!

Wow, seems like Johns is just looking for any excuse to Lantern up as many heroes as possible. That being said, the pic is awesome and gave me chills!

Read the issue, its pretty good in terms of building up the next issue. It simply pushes itself towards the next issue like a roller coaster meeting the top of the first drop. Although I will say this....as close as we are to the end of the event I doesn't seem to be building for a natural ending just and ending.

Well I just finished reading BN #6 and although I don't plan on getting any of the figures, if they made the newly "deputized" versions of Wonder Woman, Flash, Scarecrow and the rest, I don't think I would be able to resist.

I too want those deputies. It kind of makes the Black Lantern Wonderwoman a bad choice now. Either Star Saphire her, or pick a different Black Lantern, but no. I want Scarecrow the most as he makes perfect sense as a Sinestro!

But I have to admit, I was disapointed for the first time with a Blackest Night (itself) issue. This felt like a filler issue. Half of it was used just deputizing people. That could have been done quicker. Really, other than that, nothing happened. It was cool, yeah, but more should have happened besides it.

Wonder Woman will be a Black Lantern not only in the few panels of BN 5&6 but also in Blackest Night: Wonder Woman issues so the character is represented much more than the Batman solicitation...I am sure we'll get the deputies but only if the line continues deep as expected. Two of the releases up coming were deemed too spoiler to reveal. I guarantee you that they are two of the deputies. Now Mera is out because by Georg Brewer's own admission he said he hopes the line continues to create the first Mera action figure in Toyfare 150 which would probably be her as a Red Lantern over her in standard uniform. I'm going to count out Wonder Woman because I doubt that they'd double up on Wondy with her coming out the series before hand. Which leaves three. As involved as Barry and Ray have been I would say they are locks which would help bulk up the Blue Lantern and Yellow Lantern offerings. Since there are no more active Orange Lanterns I don't see DCD helping themselves from including Lex further down the line and then it'd obviously garner the last two but we'll get Barry and Ray at minimum I believe.

What is funny the original storyline was contained in Green Lantern Corps, Green Lantern and Blackest Night with the Tales of the Corps line following up as an introduction. It was DCD's top brass that decided to turn it into a DC Wide Event later in the game which is why its starting to feel fragmented as far as the Tie-Ins go and why so many different writers are being brought in from all different areas.
