HT will never provide that info knowing them, you'll just have to wait and see whether they make it. I'm pretty sure they will but whether it's anytime in the next 12 months, who knows.

I could easily see them do it in 18 months when every last drop of hope is gone

You mean when the Nolancompoops refuse to buy the same figure for the sixth time but at the magical new $300 pricepoint, with the same QC issues, they pass on a rehashed black widow with a Hathaway head that looks more like Prince William in drag than Anne, and nobody wants to pay $275 for a 1/6 Barney body in a tactical vest with a jock strap over his head, so the Nolan TDKR Batman releases become shelfwarmers?

Actually quite unexpected, IF true it's the first time announcing a license and not making a single product.

If true it simply means they a screwing their own reputation by announcing to their customers that nothing is safe from being announced and not actually delivered

Since when have HT been averse to screwing their own reputation? Done it time and time again
That's why not unexpected news for me, and validates my post from a few days back

X Men First Class is about to be announced shortly though:
Here are the important bits from the interview (I don't have the direct link):

-Hot Toys will launch 7 or 8 characters from The Avengers.
-Hulk is in progress, the body will not be fully Rubber.
-Black Widow will have a new body and hair are sculpted.
-Loki suit will be the one of The Avengers, the Thor Suit Version was canceled.
-Captain America Golden Age Version is still scheduled.
-Tony Stark Race Suit Version and Whiplash Armor Version have been set aside because of an overloaded schedule.
-The X-Men First Class range is almost complete, it will be announced soon.
-The license Green Lantern was canceled.
-The licences of Iron Man 3, Superman Man Of Steel and Wolverine will be exploited.
-The next Star Wars figures should be Anakin and Han Solo, followed by a character from Episode II.
-Rambo or Rocky should be a DX but are not yet in production.
