Re: Hot Toys Green Lantern - Official License Announcement

I just don't get why the whole thing had to be flat out cancelled. Why not just take the Jake Sully approach? "Ah we'll get to it in a few years when the Avengers/TDKR figures are in a bit of a lull," or something like that.

Pretty soon every Predator and Iron Man suit will be done, and TDKR is the last Nolan Batmovie. Just save GL for then.

You forgot about the remakes. The Iron Man (2008) Mark III needs a mark 3 remake edition. It will implement new ideas and techniques that will render all the Iron Man 2 figures obsolete so they too will need to be remade. Same goes for Predator.

Re: Hot Toys Green Lantern - Official License Announcement

Yeah, soon we'll have an infra red Dutch, muddy Dutch, a see-through Classic Pred, crushed-by-log Pred with diorama, a "morning after" Stark (with BD), Director's cut Iron Man, Terrence Howard War Machine, Holographic display Iron Man (open helmet), mid-air frozen Iron Man MKII.

Then they'll get creative.

Goat Herder Predator anyone?

Re: Hot Toys Green Lantern - Official License Announcement

HT wont make Green Lantern toys.Someone close this thread.

I'm sorry, is this single thread messing up the clutter of the 100s of Batman threads on here?

Re: Hot Toys Green Lantern - Official License Announcement

Thread doesn't need to be closed, there's plenty of valid discussion ongoing as to reasons why they chose to cancel and what that may mean for other licenses etc.

Thread lives for now

Re: Hot Toys Green Lantern - Official License Announcement

Yeah I don't see any reason to close it just yet. People are still talking about it. Isn't that what we are here for? I guess some people just don't know how "not" to go in a thread if they don't want to read about it.

I think the whole finding a material that will do everything they want is kind of a cop out for not making it. I just think that they have over extended themselves with so many projects going on at once and had to cut something. Gl was probably the one that was still early enough along in the process to get rid of without losing to much on it.

Actually I don't see a reason for it to exist anymore either, there's no point. Discussing why it was canceled means nothing. There's literally nothing that will come from it.

Re: Hot Toys Green Lantern - Official License Announcement

It would have been neat, but since the movie is already a year old with no figure, I would doubt it would happen.

There was a time when the DC movies were so much better than Marvel movies...but the tides have definitely changed.

Just like the fact that there's nothing that comes from discussing our toys in any other thread :dunno

Re: Hot Toys Green Lantern - Official License Announcement

The thread should stay open until its officially confirmed by HTs that this is cancelled.

I still say that if this figure was simply a TT with a light up chest and ring, this would be a snoozer.

:goodpost: having SOMETHING to talk about beside Bats is required in this farce of a section.

At that point they'll restart those licenses again, they've reached their limit with Iron Man so instead of moving on to fresh products what did they do, well they redid them all & are doing the same with Predator now :dunno

So indefinately then :lol

Re: Hot Toys Green Lantern - Official License Announcement

This thread will only be closed once the first tear of sadness/joy is wept for the new Batman movie.

Lock 'er up.

I've seen Avengers twice. Last week.

I cried for the first time in my life after watching a trailer, when I saw the TDKR trailer last night.

Theory destroyed :lol

But let's not make this a vs. thread. There will be plenty of time (years) for that later :rotfl

Actually yeah, most threads are useless. There's threads with hundreds of pages of discussion of nothing, that's why I don't post all that much, because there's nothing to say.
