:lol Care bears reference. I guess it was a bit too obscure. They used to stand together and care bear stare at the bad guy while beams of light shot from their tummy symbols. In the movie they also chanted "we care". Or maybe more lame than obscure. :lol

I want to see Thor and Cap but after watching the four minute trailer GL is at the top of my summer movie list.

So are you saying you wont be watching Cap and Thor now? Is watching an additional movie a financial burden?

^ Could be. Movie's are insanely expensive now. Especially the 3D. They might not have 2D at his theater.

Tomar Re. :lol

Fantastic first move at getting everyone interested but DC/WB still needs to hit the marketing harder. After all the WonderCon buzz, there hasn't been enough follow-up. You'd think that would have kicked off a full campaign of some sort...

Yes, the WC clip did a great job of overwriting the underwhelming first trailer, and one would think that "striking while the iron's hot" would be the thing to do, but...

Now I'm interested...and there are two other major comic book character movies coming out this summer too. Maybe the studio's strategy is to dance around those releases and not give out too much too soon. I'd rather see that approach than the usual too-many trailers-and-TV-spots that basically show every hot spot in the movie so that by the time it arrives, we feel like we've already seen it.

In the meantime, I'm checking out the comics and awaiting the actual movie with some interest I didn't have before seeing the WC clip...

It could've been worse, they could've given him nipples, or had his junk flapping around a'la Dr. Manhattan.

:slap

So far removed from Bat nipples it's not even funny. There is actually a legitimate character-based reason for Manhattan's nudity. And I'm glad they had the balls (pun intended) to keep it in the film, despite the phalli-phobia that is obviously rampant in our culture.

That said, GL's feet do look kinda silly.

:lol I know that! I say a lot of stupid ____, but I'm not that much of a newb!

I was just using Doc M and Bat-Nips as an example to illustrate how far they could've gone with the style their using. Meaning, instead of clothing, it looks like they're going for something more along the lines of a second skin. :peace

The feet do look strange, especially since you can see his bones going through the feet...

btw Why do his eyes change color when the mask is on?

I thought the eye thing was a little wierd too, but I guess that and the see through feet are supposed to show that he's radiataing energy? Or maybe they were going for that solid white eyes comic book look where characters have no iris/pupils when masked? :dunno

Maybe that is what they were doing. I didn't know if Hal Jordan actually has something funky happen to his eyes when he puts on the mask or something.

Given the fact that they've been saying that the construct will be second skin, it makes sense to just layer over...unless Hal is wearing shoes...then where did they go?

UPDATE: Weeks later, THR confirms that Michael Clarke Duncan is now in talks to voice Kilowog. Original article follows.

As summer movies go, especially ones that are introducing a major new character to the mainstream, Green Lantern has been very low-key. But as Germain discussed earlier today, that is in part because the effects work on the film has been far more demanding than Warner Bros. expected. What else might be wrapped up in the slow effects schedule for the film? Perhaps the finalization of some of the film’s CGI-heavy characters. While principal photography finished months ago, reports say there are still roles to cast. One might be the massive alien Green Lantern Kilowog, for whom Michael Clarke Duncan is reportedly being sought.

So looks like MCD is almost a lock for the voice of Wog. Should be interesting to see him yell "Poozers!" :lol

In the second trailer it looks like it first occurs when he feels the ring's powers but in actuality it is probably another safeguard around his identity. The whole Domino mask but irises uncovered isn't much of a guard against identity....that was the original basis for it in the earlier drafts of the script, I haven't read the finalized to be sure if that is where they were going.
