I did a poll today at work, where i'm surrounded by a ton on non comic book reading or superhero movie folks and here are the results:

Cap lead with the males, almost every male said they were going to see Cap and that it would be unpatriotic to not do so. About 30% of the females said the same thing.

When asked if they saw Thor, very few males said yes, no females that I spoke with said they went to see Thor.

GL was a pass for everyone. :horror

For non Superhero movies, Transformers 3 and Conan the Barbarian won most of the male votes but most of the women said they will pass on Transformers and Conan, saying that Arnold is an ass :slap

Favorite superhero named by males was Batman then Spiderman then Cap about tied with Wolverine.

Cap might be on to something.

Just got back @ the theater, will rate it a 6/10 for me. As expected stunning visuals but the story itself just happened to fast IMHO plus lack of scenes for Sinestro & the other Lanterns.

Blake Lively is so gorgeous!

Will still PO the HT version inspite of this and eagerly waiting for the sequels where the true villain rises!

Some further thoughts on the movie,
I liked the story-line, it was fairly simple in regards to Hal Jordan,
and they did a great job making the GL Corps story easy to follow for everyone not too familiar with the comic book.
The scenes in Oa are amazing, and
even though it's very different visually than it's comic book counter-part, Parallax is awesome!! Specially how he disposes of his victims! :horror

Overall, it was a great movie-going experience, and best of all, it was free!!
:rock!

Wow, I thought it was a given that GL would be a better film than Transformers 3 (which comes out the week after). No longer a safe bet.

Don't know why but I feel truly bad for you Green Lantern fans. I've never been very interested in the character or the comics, but I wanted this film to succeed.

It's also gotten pretty good reviews so far.

It'll be the only movie that delivers the SUMMER GOODS. Explosions, robots, hot chicks. :rocks
