Well he meant that the reviewer liked GL better than Thor - whether he liked Thor or not is irrelevant, its a relative comparison, not an absolute one - exhibit A

Exhibit B - Mag liked Thor

Exhibit A + Exhibit B logically leads to hey then GL must be pretty good

You can question this logic on an absolute basis, but on a relative basis it makes perfect sense

It must suck to be a film critic at the moment if you don't like comic book movies. :lol

I just read Peter Travers review from Rolling Stone. Jesus H. Christ he has absolutely no clue what he is talking about in terms of background. Comes off like a huge pretentious ******. I have a feeling this will go the Tron: Legacy route where it does a decent box office, big international and home sales ensuring an eventual conservative budgeted sequel. Thankfully all the basework on the costuming, constructs and Oa will have already been done so it'll allow for a scaling back.

Or they could just invest a few mil from the bazillions they'll undoubtedly make from TDKR or Harry Potter (final part) and ensure the sequel is as epic as the franchise deserves

I wish things worked like that

Anyway - Saturday can't get here soon enough

You know how I knew it would be bad and they were desperate to make it look good last minute?

Whenever a movie commercial has to use ONE word descriptions, from crappy sources, to make it look good, but it's also probably taken out of context lol
Like that last commercial where you get bombarded with quotes like: "AMAZING", "OUTSTANDING", "EPIC". lol
And the fine print is always some crappy review source. And either it's one of the few good reviews for the movie, or the words are taken out of context like: The movie is an OUTSTANDING failure in direction. lol

I think the best TV spot I ever saw was one for UltraViolet...

The spot said "ULTRAVIOLET IS....SLEEK, SEXY!"

But the actual review said "UltraViolet is Sleek, Sexy and Utter Crap."

I :loled so hard.

I don't give a ____ really I just bought midnight tickets (I was going to wait until Friday to go with my wife and brother), the fact that midnight tickets though are still available is a little troublesome.

I'll probably end up going to IMAX. That's what happens when one drives around with the score blasting in the car.

Which isnt as bad as I thought it was.

I wouldn't worry much. Most of the midnight showings I've been to lately haven't sold out. Last check my local AMC isn't sold out. We're just seeing it at midnight in 3D we have an IMAX there but its not showing in IMAX here.

I stopped reading that after the ignorant Alan Scott ref. I don't mind negative reviews, I read everything, but trying to falsify your comic street cred to add weight to your opinion is very pathetic.

Every time I see one of these commercials I get a little sad. The film looks so good - and for all the critics to be hating it means they really effed up somewhere.

Gonna see Transformers in IMAX for sure and maybe Potter if they do a part 1 & 2 event.
