I'm enjoying the comic booky wizard of oz flash gordon blown out colors on this.

Yeah it seemed like Wreck It Ralph with a few live-action actors added to the foreground. Hard for me to get excited about that type of filmmaking after TFA and RO but clearly there's an audience for this sort of thing.

:lol :lol :lol

The first Guardians was better than TFA and RO.

meh trailer, first two were better. this looks boring in comparison to the first movie. way too much going on screen.

____^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Case in point...

Not the biggest fan of the first Guardians but I though it was one of the better MCU movies, and I can at least name all of the main characters on the team. I can't remember not one name from that Rogue One rebel squad.

TFA characters are only memorable because of how horrible they were. Do people really find Rey, Finn and Oscar Isaac's character more memorable or likable compared to Starlord, Rocket Raccoon and Drax?

Groot had more personality than all 3 of them combined, and I'm not even kidding :lol

it doesn't surprise me that you feel this way. you seem to repeat yourself a lot like groot.

:lol

in reality the TFA characters are fleshed out and more personal. do you want to see where Rey's story is taking her or something more one dimensional like if groot ever learns another sentence or if starlord will say something funny?

standard characters, sure. but at least they're more satisfying than a tree. plus baby groot is more played out at this point than the 8 SW movies we've seen and GOTG2 hasn't even hit theaters.

Rey, Finn, and pilot guy are fleshed out? That has to be a joke. They're 3 characters that do good just because, Finn got gave a ridiculous reason why he gave up the Stormtrooper life. Everyone in GOTG are far more fleshed out, and I was speaking more about personality and character traits, Groot, while he saids the same thing every time delivers those lines and is more entertaining to watch than any of those new Star Wars characters, same with Drax, Starlord and RR.

But then again, I'm arguing with someone who thinks Letoker was a great character :lol

Anytime someone says "Letoker" my mind goes to the junkyard dude taunting Corey Feldman in "Stand By Me" when he refers to Corey's dad as the "Loony up in Tokus." Letoker, Letokus.

"If you call Jared 'Letoker' one more time, I'll kill you...."

"Letoker, Letoker, Letoker!"

"AAAHHHHHH!"

I definately can see where pturtle is coming from character wise but nothing in GOTG can match the thrills of RO 3rd act, Rey's lightsaber awakening snow battle or seeing the OT cast back on the big screen.

we will just have to agree to disagree then.

Well, if Jye even half agrees with me, that proves I'm right. Time to move on people!

the feeling you get during that lightsaber duel- nothing like that has happened in any marvel movie, prob won't too.

I liked the first Guardians movie. Like most people who knew nothing about them I was surprised by it. I even skipped it altogether at release because it didn't fit into the pattern of the characters I was familiar with like Iron Man, Thor etc..

No Marvel or DCEU movie will likely ever hit the highs of a SW film because both shared universes appear to be forever slaves to the status quo. When a character dies in a SW film it means something (even if they reappear as a Force ghost.) When a character dies in a Marvel/DCEU film all you have to do is wait five minutes if you want to see them again.
