I like not seeing the lead up. It's refreshing. Del Toro made a good point how that was inspired by Star Wars. The prequels start off at the beginning and are boring for it, where's the originals start off in the middle of the story and end up being more interesting.

In my opinion.

To me, it just seemed like it contained too much and was told too fast. It would've been great to see more of it.

Star Wars narrative was meant to mimic the old movie serials, that why it was there.

Wish he would've left those alone and not expanded on them. :monkey4

Well, I don't think this will be the end of Pacific Rim, i'm sure there will be many graphic novels, and books.

Plus, the film leaves enough room to explore in other films later on.

I know it happens every now and then. At some point, years later, there's a sudden surge of fan demand for a certain property and studios begin to take notice. I'm trying to think of certain properties to give an example...but I can't think of one at the moment :lol

Someone help me out here :lol

I don't mean movies that did well financially to begin with. I mean movies that had mediocre performances initially.

Box Office Mojo official weekend report:

"It seems that Pacific Rim's entire weekend box office of 38 million came entirely from the Sideshow Freaks Forum Pacific Rim movie thread, good job guys."
