I think the 'general audience' knows less about this genre than some people are trying to make themselves believe, trust me the most they'd think of this movie is Godzilla vs Transformers.

OK. This is one of those films I'd rather turn out great and make less money then for it to be rubbish but make lots of money.

Last year's Dredd is a great example of this. The film bombed but it was awesome!

Same here. They have done enough that I will give them my money to see this in theatre. If it is as good as I'm hoping it will be, then my wallet will open for other stuff. I may get a few of the NECA figures regardless unless I just loathe the film. I like the design of the Jaegers.

Actually HB2 killed it for me, was too far from perfectly balanced original. Same with BLADEII.

Overall, I'd probably go with HB over HB2. Enjoyed both but that german character in HB2 is what keeps it from being better. What an annoying jerk.
