I prefer HB to HB2, but Prince Nuada was a better overall villain. I felt sorry for hi,, and almost wanted him to win in the end. Rasputin wanted to become an elder god. Nuada just wanted to save his people. I can respect that. His villainy was subtle, and understandable.

I prefer the monsters and creatures in the first HB, but the story was better in HB2.

I do agree there. Samael was awesome looking. HB2 had way too much. But I lovie the story in HB2. I would love to know what happens with the prophesy the Angel of Death made about HB to Liz. Not to mention
Liz is pregnant

You'd be even more surprised at how much they don't.

Uhg, anime. :yuck

I think the 'general audience' knows less about this genre than some people are trying to make themselves believe, trust me the most they'd think of this movie is Godzilla vs Transformers.

general audiences have the attention span of a flea. I would say most people don't know a lot. Only fans,
and I don't think that fans will buy that many tickets for this movie.

The only thing I am hoping for, is that the Transformers crowd will check this out.
but then again, they might hate it because they might think Guillermo is ripping off Michael Bay, and the Transformer fans might not want to see this.

......:dunno who knows, I hope this is big, but I will not be surprised if it ends up doing bad at the box Office.

If this movie bombs, say goodbye to GDT.

Financially.

Studios only make believe they care about quality after money has been made.

I don't think so, But he would probably have to stick to low budget movies if that happens.
My guess is that any big projects he has might not see the light if Pacific Rim bombs.

How many projects does he have pending? doesn't he have like 10 movies he was supposed to release at some point?

He won't stop making movies or be in demand. If this doesn't do well it might cool his stock a bit but I think this is going to do pretty well.

The fact that some people think that GDT career depends on this movie is both hilarious and ridiculous...

:slap

Indeed. This movie won't make alot of money however I just hope it makes enough to be considered a 'success'. The most important thing for me is that the film itself is great to watch.

Yeah, I hope GDT can get Perlman to hop on board again. I remember reading an interview with Mignola where he said the stuff being hinted at in HB2 was ahead of where he had HB in the comics even.

He won't go away if this film bombs. He just won't be able to make another film this size ever again.

Right, GDT has been quoted about how much freedom he was granted for this film. I hope it ends well for him and the genre.

Go Big or Go Extinct! :rock

exactly. :lecture

(Specially after the whole In the Mountains of Madness disaster)

No way in hell...
He already has Haunted Mansion, Crimson Peak, Frankestein, and Dark Universe... :dunno

Besides, look at the Wachowskis for example...

A lot of people said that after the Matrix sequels "failures", they wouldn't be able to make more big budget movies... yet they've done V for Vendetta, Speed Racer, Cloud Atlas and are working on Jupiter Ascending so... moot point!

For him and us as well. i really want this film to be good. Behind Man of Steel it is my second most anticipated film of the year. Plus I hate Transplosions, so I really hope this does giant robots right.(no fart jokes, peeing robots, racist robots)

Yeah, I'm hoping it gives life to the kaiju/mech genre. Much the same way life is flowing for the superhero genre.

We've got this and the new Godzilla film on the horizon. If they both do poorly, we may not see another one for a while.

Giant monsters, still have the Ace up their sleeve in Cloverfield 2. All that film needs is for Abrams to say he wants to do it, and the studio will hand him a check.

Mechs are hurting. The only game in town is Bay's Splosionbots. So if we hope to see new takes, or even see live action versions of Macrosse, Gundam, or Evangelion we need this to do well. I'll certainly do my part. I'm going to see this in IMAX(if it has it) and I will buy the prequel graphic novel(mainly for Alex Ross' art) So lets hope this movie is a success.
