I saw the scout and socom II at the store today. Went around back to the range and some guy was shooting his socom II, watched him for 10 mins or so gun looks really fun. My next buy will definitely be a Springfield rifle. Should I be worried my scar overheated the other day, it was high 80 degrees, and I went through four 20 round mags sorta quick.

Should I be worried my scar overheated the other day, it was high 80 degrees, and I went through four 20 round mags sorta quick.

it's not an issue for the Military.

Pretty fast and it was the weapons first real workout. I'm thinking some factory cleaning residue wasn't wiped away from my ore shoot cleaning.

Barrel got hot and smoked a bit more then I thought it would. It fire perfect the whole time though.

Oh, I thought it was more serious than that. That is likely just oils that have seeped into the metal burning off.

wipe it down with CLP or equivelant. You are probably fine.

I have the scar 17s and just placed a order for a urban camo M1A Socom II, can't have enough 308's IMO.

Picked up my M1A Socom II today, they couldn't get the urban camo so my dealer gave me a break on the price. I have 5 factory Springfield mags(20round) on order, damn those suckers are expensive! Almost $70 a mag! Going to the range with this and the scar Sat, if the mags arrive by then.

I have to agree with the others here. I think it's the oil burning off.

I'm not easy on my 17S either and it's been very good to me. Zero FTF's so far.

I finally found a PPQ in 9mm that someone will ship it without the 15 rounds mag for $465 shipped!!! I told myself I'm done with 9mm but always wanted to get my hands on a PPQ

After a year or so of trying to save up for a Bushmaster ACR, my better judgement got a hold of me. Instead of buying a $2500 rifle (that's badass in every way), I'd instead get 2 $1200 rifles. In case one breaks down, I'll have a spare. I came across this today, and had to pull the trigger. It's a Bushmaster XM15 (M4A3). I went to another dealer looking for a part for my Blackhawk storm sling and bartered 6 mags for only $50.00. Christmas has come early! It came loaded with extra's and is brand new
