I'm going in this without watching review, just listening to the score, checking out pictures and clips and my own hopes and dreams.

Want to hear something else scary? Grace is supposedly only 31 years old. I thought she was older than me. :horror

Now there's pressure on ironwez to hurry up and put a baby in her. :lol

Are you still not seeing this opening weekend?

That you were ever able to watch her videos was scary enough.

She loved Civil War so I loved her

:lol, Michael is definitely a favorite character, and I feel like the last few movies have been to Myers like Ang Lee was to Hulk :lol I’m waiting for my TIH/Avengers level Halloween movie to do Michael justice again.

I’ve listened to the score like 3 times, if nothing else the music is great, feels very old school, comes off like a mix of sounds from the H1-3 scores plus some great new stuff.

We'll I'm seeing it 8:30pm and UK time is five hours ahead of Eastern time, and eight hours ahead of Pacific time.

So I'm going to see it first and spoil it for all of you unless I get candy and dirty mags from you lot. :blissy

I’ve even managed to avoid the score i’m going in really blind!

I don’t know how I feel about this movie having gore it feels like it goes against everything 78 stands for. Remember that Friday the 13th part 1 was a direct response to the lack of gore in H78. F13th part 1 was saying “Hey look at us we aren’t messing around!”

Fulci and Argento had already introduced copious amounts of gore in the italian market place but the USA only had Dawn of the Dead to go with but that wasn’t slasher material and besides Argento had his hand in it anyways it wasn’t pure domestic gore.

Sure Hershel Gordon Lewis had done his gore thing in the 60’s but whatever lol

Btw as big as a Halloween 78 geek that I am it was my favorite slasher movie for quite sometime I did finally jump over into the F13th part 1 camp (pun intended).

For 2 reasons which are really connected and gore isn’t one of them. F13th part 1 gore today is very tame lol

  1. The Pasadena location kind of takes away from some of the atmospheric allure that comes from middle america Halloween night.
  2. Pasadena is far from me yet i’m only a 3 hour drive from the original F13th camp and unlike H78 the camp wasn’t a stand in location like Pasadena was it REALLY is a kids camp in a creepy ass very isolated location! Believe me I know lol So I feel like I have a more personal connection to it. Although both offer personal connections I do think more kids go out on Halloween night than they go to camp so I do see why Halloween is the be all end all of Halloween related movies.

So at the end of the day Halloween 78 is now my 2nd favorite slasher movie.

What is Halloween in the UK like :lol

Halloween over here is kind of like our woman -- moderately scary with butter face masks and only start to be attractive and fun when the beer goggles are on. :lol

As much as I'm a F13 fan I just can't put any of them, original included, on the same level as Carpenter's 78 classic. I like part 1 (apart from the unnecessary killing of a real snake whose owner was there to see its demise), part 2, 4 and 6. Yup that's it, the rest are trash. :lol

All F13th are trash when compared to the first one even the mighty 2 and 4!

But 2 has that perfect perfect perfect ass shot and great disability kill. :lol

For decades I was on the H78 > F13th 1 camp.

But then I became less snobby about it and flipped my opinion lol

Is that the ass shot of the girl that gets a stone thrown at her right cheek but she touches her left one? They could have edited that goof out. :lol

Part 1 stands on its own as a tense, somewhat 'realistic' slasher before the series became centered on Jason. It never made sense how a woman was able to lift all those bodies on her own though lol.

Part 2 feels like a rehash of the first but with too many cut away kills. Jason was a little sissy boy with no muscle though.

I like Richard Brooker as Jason in part 3 and at the time it was the highest grossing film ever if you can believe that. But that damn fake eye popping out of the head and the acting, oh man. :lol

Part 4 Jason was the most intimidating and his kills were full of hate and anger. Tom Savini's practical effects are the highlight for me and the finale is quite intense.

I still say a reboot or a continuation from the first F13 could be done like this new Myers one. I mean Halloween has more timelines than the Terminator and X-Men films combined. :lol

I get the disappointment of gore in this movie, unfortunately it’s a reality of the times. People today can accept the lack in ‘78 because it’s “old” or “classic”, but a modern made slasher with no gore will have casual viewers walking out. I do believe it will be toned down and akin to the level of H2-H6.

78 did not have one single scene with tons of blood in it......

Watch it again you will see.....it not needed if the film is done well.....which this wont be.

Jahns have it high praise but pointed out an issue with the doctor's character arc and the comedy, which a few people have mentioned as a weakness.

Stuckman was disappointed and had a sour face like me after finishing TLJ. :lol

I saw that parents dressed up their little kids as MM and had them doing make believe kills at that H40 convention....

I’m no prude but yikes :lol

MM the role model lol

Stuckman is a horror movie fanatic and JJ is not so that’s not good.

That being said Stuckman loves Trick r Treat and I think that movie is crap lol

My gut still tells me this Halloween movie is going to suck :lol
