The way they went with these was perfect.. I assume those not happy with the lack of a swappable Stormie helmet are those that passed on the standard stormie? That is the only explanation that makes sense to me
I don't think people were hoping for swappable helmets in order to Army-build. It's simply a matter of having that one other option to display Han & Luke (especially Luke) in ST armour with their helmets on. You could do the scene with them escorting Chewie, etc.
Well technically, YEAH, they should (and they often do). They are a business looking for customers after all and customers are cheap in general.
It was SSC anticipating and compensating for cheap people like me that made them choose only 1 of the helmets as opposed to charging more by providing both.
In this instance I prefer the helmets we are getting to regular helmets.
There are a few options SSC could have chose, but IMO they chose the one that would have been hardest for a collector to do themselves. So I appreciate that.
Besides, since we'll never get Chewie from SS, what's the point?...
it's like the Chess table, no Chewie, no 3PO or R2...
Good point. If you care about chewie, i for one never really care if he comes as a figure ever. But i certainly would buy a figure of him, just because it would look awesome.
So they should then be in the business of loosing money? Because given that the Stormtroopers have yet to sell out, providing an alternative with Han and Luke would've ensured that they don't.
Actually, they were a sinch to make. The hardest part was knocking a half inch out of Luke's body which was really only as hard as undressing, removing a few screws and a mid section, replacing a barbell and then reassembling them.
No, they aren't in a business to lose money. They are in a business to market an affordable product so as to make money. Thats what I'm saying. Adding too much (such as 2 helmets + a head for each figure) creates a product that many people are unwilling to pay for. So they made a choice to satisfy money conscious, aka "cheap", people.
Also, I think more customizers could shorten a stormtrooper than accurately detail the inside of a helmet. That was my point. I appreciate SSC going with the best of the possible choices.
I think I'd actually rather have the accessory/prop helmets with the detailed interiors than have swappable ones. Seems a lot more thought went into the accessory helmets, swappable ones would've been easy.
Absolutely (and I think we're saying the same thing here though), but to include wearable helmets for them would potentially have cost them sales of the regular Stormtroopers for those customers expecting to use them for the dual purpose of being Han & Luke in disguise as well as army builders. But this is likely irrelevant as we both think that this particular 2-pack will be more expensive than purchasing 2 Stormtroopers outright.
So Sideshow should anticipate and compensate for people wanting to be cheap?
But this is likely irrelevant as we both think that this particular 2-pack will be more expensive than purchasing 2 Stormtroopers outright.
Of course you'd never buy Luke & Han purely to use as Stormtroopers. But the fact that they could double as Stormtroopers would be more cost-effective than buying the standard Stormies as well.
Cost effective for you, cost prohibitive for Sideshow. Again, offering that option would ensure that everyone, save army builders, would be passing on the regular Stormtroopers which are still in stock, to pick these guys up as replacements.
