Ah, cool. They're still doing the forced perspective thing, but it's not so horrible.

Hmmm. How difficult would it be to modify the armored body to make Luke a little shorter?

I'm sure it will be attempted. Altering/removing a piece of the torso or abdomen is the way to go instead of altering the legs.

What's with the apple?

Luke is still being made to look shorter in those pics. Although the difference between the 1st and the apple pic shows the trick.

Also, the box looks to be the same design as the Palpatine two-pack. No surprise there.

I'll be ordering. I think the detail to the helmets is great. And I really like the head sculpts. Not to mention that I've wanted this version of Han and Luke for a long time.

It's funny how they used forced perspective to make Han look taller. Well, not funny, but you know...

Thats my thought as well. If you look at the movie, Lukes chestplate was VERY low, touching the belt.

Me too, Ill be order these two friday.. :chew

I do find it a little annoying that us non attendees have to pay not only an extra $10, but also for shipping! Those lucky SDCC-ers not only get it cheaper, they get it quicker and don't pay shipping!

I better make sure I'm planted in front of my computer Friday! I gotta have a set!

"Funny and true."

Barring the fact that they are on the same body and the same height, I'm still going to try to get an order placed on Friday. I don't think it should be too difficult to mod Luke yourself and make him at least a bit shorter than Han.

As far as NA orders and numbers I could see it going either way at this point. There seems to be a fair bit of excitement over these two and if Vader and the last storm/sandtrooper are any indication they could sell through pretty quickly. These do cost twice as much though, so who knows.

It's not that hard to do which annoys me that SS didn't:

HanLukeStormtrooper.jpg

Basically, unscrew the torso, remove the center abdominal piece, resize the barbell that holds the torso to the pelvis (it runs through the abdominal piece you'll remove) and then re-assemble. Essentially, the only thing they would have had to do was shorten the barbell and exclude a section of the torso. :(

That is a real kick in the nuts if Luke is the same height... a pretty cheap move IMO especially as the new bodies are supposed to be modular.

BS!!

All their promotional materials show a height difference, but the production piece doesn't!?!? Then why the fark show a height difference in the pics, typical Sideshow bait and switch.

VERY good points, gents. :(

So who's gonna do up a Tutorial??

Technically, they didn't show a height difference. They tricked you with perspective shots. Nice, huh? :lol

There's really no need. It's as simple as it sounds at the bottom of my pic. But when you get yours, if you need help, I'll walk you through it.

I have no interest in these, but I wouldn't mind ordering on Thurs for a fellow Freak.

:wave

If any of you are able to get over the height issues. :horror

Thanks! :duff

But, you're right... if it's that simple then Sideshow really should have done right and made the height difference come in-box. Especially for $200. :tap
