Han and Luke as Stormtroopers - SDCC '09

I won't be buying these. Height isn't the issue for me, it's the price. If I can pick these up for significantly cheaper later on, which is probably unlikely, then I will buy them. I won't sweat it if I can't.

It does seem like Sideshow was trying to infer that Luke would be shorter from their images. But now we know he's not, so I guess its good to know that going in.

That's the point...why go through the effort to make him look shorter when he actually is not. It implies that the two will be movie accurate...it implies that Luke will be the same height as all the other Lukes we've gotten...which are shorter than all the Hans we got. Just was no need to do that if thats not the case.

Whatever. I'm just always giving my two cents. People can take what I say however they so choose. I find it funny my opinion gets more crap made out of it than others on this board. I'm here just shooting the stuff just like anyone else. I guess I'm just louder and more forceful about it than other members.

I don't think its that you are louder, but you are just predictable on what side of the line you're gonna fall on. Plus, you say stuff like, "...I'm gonna stop coming to the SW threads because folks are too whiney and always moaning and groaning unnecessarily." And yet you always post on these types of issues to defend SSC even though you know lots of folks disagree with you. I agree you have every right to carry a torch for SSC all you want, but you gotta expect some backlash...at least a little.

All the pics don't have Luke behind Han...most do but not all. That, in my book, clearly shows that there was intent and effort on SSCs part to make Luke appear shorter.

That's true - there is no photoshop manipulation, just a perspective trick in every single image with the two of them together.

Not every single one...just most. And why the need to "trick" the buying public? Why not just do what they usually do and just take mediocre shots of the products with no intent at all?

its not a real major issue with me although it would have been nice for a shorter luke but without cannibalizing my luke (if i secure one that is) to be shorter than han (if i secure one that is) i think about the easiest fix would be to trim a portion of lukes base down & slide a thin disk or something to raise han's base.

Well they'll get to Palps and Stormie some time I'm sure, but the unlikelyhood of the lesser characters is one of the drawbacks to PF's. As well as space issues.

Hoping to secure one tomorrow since I won't be able to make it to SDCC this year. Overall I think they look pretty solid. There are a few 'would be nice's' but these are so iconic to the OT trilogy that I am excited to get them.

Regardless, Sideshow has indeed been caught with their hands in the cookie jar here.

What makes it worse is that, had no one explicitly asked about the height issue in the chat (and had I not quoted the answer on these boards)... we still would not know. And the main image on the actual product ordering page is the worse culprit yet when it comes to the deception.

I love Sideshow, but I'm also the first to speak up when I feel they've done wrong. This is certainly one of those times. The figures being the same height is small potatoes... the (now obvious) deception is not.

Yeah, I don't recall saying that before. At least not saying that on the board. I think they do try to take shots of what they look like when you set them up but this time went for a more artsy approach.
