I'm more turned off by the display set up than I am the price (even though it's laughable too). Narrow little base, no backdrop like their beautiful first release and only an orange light that shines up from the bottom. :pfft:

Sideshow is slowly pricing themselves out the market. I can't see how anyone can justify this figure's price. With such a competitive market you have to be priced competitively. Quality standards of SS has also drop significantly, they seem to disappoint on every release. How will this be any different?

If HT produced this and at this price... I bet it would come with extra accessories.. like um.. Han Solo.

This will be cast in resin and sold all over ebay.

I don't condone that (recast), but at 250.00 retail, I'm sure a lot of people will buy a resin cast of this.

I will! Sideshow can stick it at that price. I can see this being an internet peg warmer, I mean who is going to pay that!?

Does it come with a Bespin guard for that price? An Ugnaught?

At least give Boba Fett a place to stand instead of that tiny base.

Geez.

yeah I`m happy with there first release.now if the panels lite up or something I might have got it. but 250.00 for just a figure or statue pass. I cant remember what it cost for the whole diorama back in 07 I think that was the year but at least you got your moneys worth back then. :dunno

Are the issues of price and quality also present in ss's releases for statues and the like? Or are these issues limited to their 1/6 products?

I guess I will have to try and find the original release somewhere.. any ideas where apart from ebay (1 on there for $680!!) ?

For comparison, the pf was 300 dollars and had three light features, a polystone base, and could be hooked up to mains power with an adapter. That was five years ago, when collecting did'nt consume nearly every last dollar you had!
Good times (reflects)
250, nope, not biting!

Yea, I know the old Hasbro one I have isn't accurately proportioned, and has no back, but it works well for a background piece that I paid like 20 bucks for in 1998. I would love to have a more accurate version, but not at any where close to the price the SS one is going for. I'll stick with what I have for now.

When I saw the price I literally laughed out loud. This hobby is going downhill real quick. What a joke!

I actually like the Hasbro face sculpt more than the first SSC carbonite.

The problem for Sideshow is that this piece is niche and isn't really a "marquee" figure/piece at all, making it far less tempting, especially at that price.
