Looks like they have really beefed up the climactic interaction between Harry and Voldemort. I think this will be an epic conclusion to the film series, and might even improve a bit on the book. ("Harry, while you were downstairs, a few well known characters died off screen.")

I'm sure you're right - in this trailer we already see 2 of those on screen - hopefully they'll have their moments too.

New trailer - damn I wish I was a kid and grew up with these films - better than Star Wars!

Thanks DD. I have huge goosebumps from that. I just cannot wait! I'm reading the books and trying to catch up before the movie. I've really slacked though. Off I'll go to get back to 4 so I can get in gear. Luckily I'm a fast reader.

This has been my favorite film series of all time. I just wish they would have extended the film lengths in 4+5 to 3 hours. More could have been added. And 3 hours is not too long for a film. Many of my favorites are 3 hours. For example: Green Mile, A Time To Kill, Shawshank Redemption, etc.

OMFG IM SO EXCITED FOR THIS FILM TO RELEASE!!! :yess:

The new trailer gave me some serious goosebumps. I guarantee this movie is going to be extremely emotional especially for all those who have grown up with this series, but really everyone who has a passion for Harry Potter. I'm broken-hearted that this is the final installment of a series that has defined a generation. Hell, I got emotional watching this new trailer... I just wanted to fist pump the air because it's so awesome... but I'm at work and do not want weird looks. Lol. So I will simply do a little jig in my head :dance

Also, can July 15th get here any faster? :gah:

Which 2 Dave? One of the twins...and who?

NO I have not read Deathly Hallows yet....

I know Lupin dies...but we don't see that in the trailer or do we? So who else? Which twin is it?

If you haven't read it I'm not going to spoil it - but we do see Lupin's arm in the trailer...

I don't care for some of the liberties they are taking with the final showdown between Harry and Voldemort. It's bad enough they changed the setting of the confrontation.

The way the final confrontation is written in the book would feel very anti-climactic on screen. I am glad they are beefing things up a bit.

I'm not expecting much out of the final fight(s). Given this director's past attempts at the fight scenes, or more apporpiately, the lack thereof, what we see in the trailer is about 90% of what we are actually going to see. The fight in the Ministy in OotP should have been epic, especially with Dumbledore and Voldemort, but it was lackluster. And then the decent fight in HBP was totally skipped. I want the final fight to be epic, but I'm not going to be expecting much based on what we've gotten in the past.

Too bad I do not dig the shirt today. I would definitely have bought it had it been Gryffindor or something.

Now, I went back last night and watched Pt. 1 and I have to retract my previous statement about it. I had said I didn't enjoy it and was let down.

Going back to HBP, I didn't like that when I saw it in theaters either. But when I took time at home to watch it a while later, thought it was really good. Not like WOW, but I enjoy it enough that I want to watch it every now and again, especially for the comedy. "all hands on deck Grainger!" But I agree that the fight scenes left out in the movies are such disappointments and was a very stupid move.

And well, with DH pt.1 I think the fact that I was tired for the midnight screening and that I hadn't read the books and wasn't sure what to expect, was a big no-no. Re-watching this last night I was pleasantly surprised at how good it really was.

I am reading the books now and books 1 through 3 were okay. There were a few differences here and there but nothing drastic. I think the Dursley stuff that was left out from the movies was a bit downing for me though, as I loved those parts in the books.

I am currently on GOF and I am just immersed in it. The writing seems to age with the books and I love the story. Too much is different or left out from the movie and I dislike that as I feel a lot of what's in the book would have been excellently executed in the movie. But I very look forward to reaching book 7 before the final movie.

I think I expected too much out of Pt. 1 because I didn't know what was supposed to happen. I thought it was supposed to be fully action packed. Got that message wrong since that is Pt.2.

Anyways, my point is, I think they did a great job with pt. 1 and I believe pt. 2 will be amazing as well, but I am not going in blind because I want to know everything. Even though I know some of the things they are changing. And one of those things
Snape's death
will be done a bit differently since the book didn't do it justice.

I like the movies but I will always prefer to read the books. You just get so much more out of Harry's world.

hehe no.. I mean

You had said you thought that Snape didn't get the kind of exit his character deserved and I was wondering how you would change it.

I was being lasy and asking you without having to use spoiler tags. :lol

Well, I wouldn't know because I haven't read that far yet. But I know that
The director asked J.K. if she minded if they gave him a bigger exit. :D Gotta wait to see.

Damn, Snape dies? Must...Not... Click... Spoiler tags. Haha

He's my favorite, so it stings a lot. I know of all the people who die and it's just not fair. Guess that's war. But seriously...some of them, really!?!!!! :(
