Yesterday I caved in to get into this series. Did a trade and got R2-D2, had some TRU reward to get Yoda and Solo. And bought Jedi Luke and PO Emperor Palpatine. Late in the game.

Finally decided to open up the Black Series SDCC2014 Jabba set. This was the best I could do with the base when removing the damn clear plastic packaging.

Overall not too bad; should be salvageable. Any of you folks recommend how I could patch up those peeled parts? Just some grey ink of some sort?

Or should I just cover it all with something?

Try giving it a light dry brushing Over the whole bottom area. Color match to one of the darker tones. Just an idea.

So Target Canada is closing and toys are 50% off. This means Jabba is reduced to $25. So why are there still so many on the shelf?? Because it sucks!! Why would I buy this without the Dias? To be honest I don't think I would purchase at $10 because same question would apply....Why would I buy Jabba without the Dias???

You saw the at 50% off?

Everything I saw at target wa marked up

Ugh.

I just want to complete the Bounty Hunters and get Han Bespin, ANH Luke and a decent Vader.

Then I'm done with this line.

Unless they pull off something bloody spectacular.

(Let's see if anyone can get that reference)

Liking Yoda

Water treated the robe. Lol
Why did they give him a saber though [emoji107]

TIE Pilot,Yoda, Young Ben and a trooper arrived yesterday.

I want to smack whoever OK'd the articulation, robe and paint on Yoda.

I ended up repainting the entire figure. The robe is way huge, while the arms were ok, the torso is at least twice as wide as it should and I removed much of the material.

That looks great. Good work.

I'd actually buy it if it looked like that. All these figures have great sculpts, it's too bad the production paint kills them.

How is his jaw hinge? Is it firm or loose and crappy?

Paint looks pretty good from that picture. Seems the aliens are staying the course in this line.

Some of it can be covered by some tiny pillows and a brown piece of fabric, like the blanket Jabba sat on. Here's another diorama's take on it:

Jabba was discounted to $15 at Target. Finally a realistic price for me to make the purchase. It is a nice figure but no way near the $50 original price tag. Funny you take this figure and put it on the table and it sucks. Take the figure and put it on a book (around the same dimensions of the dias) and……DAMN looks fantastic. Goes to show you that this Jabba figure really needed its dias. Kind of if Hasbro sold Max Rebo without his organ.

I really hope Hasbro learns a hard lesson from this not to make these things exclusive.

Jaw hinge is fine, pretty firm. Not a lot of range of motion to it though, doesn't really open all that far.
