What part of "online exclusive" did you not understand? :huh

I just haven't heard that. Do you have a source that you'd provide? I put some feelers out there, but haven't heard direct confirmation. as a rule, i don't believe every fact I've heard from fans. No offense to you, I take this kinda stuff with a grain of salt

From Amazon today, i rec: Emperor's Royal Guard, Weequay, and Nein numb - look very nice!!!

It has been posted on all of the collector sites i.e. Rebelscum, Yakface, Sir Steve's, etc. that Hasbro has stated that the final wave of vintage will only be available through online distributors and not available at retail.

Fair enough....I truly had no clue, so glad I scored my favs online - I was anticipating this wave for a long time, and was taking no chances

Update: my cousin in Texas indicated he found a weequay figure inside his local Walmart - he's a fan too - so these may hit traditional outlets afterall

Saw a mention in a Rebelscum article about the Vintage line being on hiatus - is that to say that no movie figures are being made for a while?

Kind of annoying that I was so close to staying up to date but had to cancel what turned out to be the final 2 waves or however many it was.

Our Walmart sucks so bad, they have a glob of all white ph 3 clones, naboo pilotts and then,,, nothing.

Gah, stopped in at ToysRNuts tonight, don't even know why I bother. Same crap they've had not selling for months. :monkey2 Nothing on sale either, so much for Black Friday deals. They did have a bunch of the Force Fx sabers back in which I didn't even know they were carrying, the boxxes looked ancient. :lol
They also had a slew of the Thundercracker MPs, as much as I love G1 Transformers I resisted the darkside.

Only saw a vintage card Jar Jar and I'm not picking that up.

Me too. I saw two of them and I really contemplated picking them up, but then thought "you got screwed the last time you bought them, not again" so I put them back.

Those Phantom Menace figures will warm the pegs for quite awhile.

That isn't the case. Movie figures will continue to be made (you can probably look up the hasbro presentation at comic-con to see the upcoming figures).

Only the VINTAGE CARDS will be on hiatus. Hasbro's explanation is that they don't want the vintage cards to be too common. They hold it in a high regard so it's a "special" thing to them (and collectors). They think that by shelving it for now, they can bring it back again later and it'll be cool again.

Truth is, the sales are probably dwindling so they're getting fewer interest from the stores.

I have an idea. How about not jacking up the price for vintage figures?? It's costing them the same amount of money at this point for a card and figure but you're asking retailers to have a completely separate line item in the store to take up space.

Maybe if they hadn't bundled Expanded Universe and Prequels into the Vintage line there would be more interest. All I ever see are Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones pegwarmers because nobody wants them. They should never have been put on Vintage cards anyway. The line would have been more *special* if it had been reserved for just the VINTAGE figures anyway. I blame Darryl DePriest and his marketing team for the dwindling sales.

You can't blame Darryl. They polled fan's interest on putting other figures on the vintage line and they had tremendous support. They really shouldn't be charging a premium for these if they're not in starcases. That's the big problem.

They really shouldn't be putting non-vintage figures on Vintage Collection cards. Period.

Meh, I don't get what the big deal is. They never released a Sandtrooper vintage. They never released Dr. Evazan vintage. Are you upset about those too?

It's a flawed argument.

Did Kenner ever make them? Figures not originally made by Kenner should not be on a Kenner Vintage card. Your argument is invalid.

Who cares? :dunno

Hasbro bought Kenner and can do whatever they want. To me, the vintage cardbacks are some of the best action figure cardbacks ever. I would prefer to see every Star Wars figure released this way regardless of what was originally released.

Kenner made a prototype of that Yarna D'al Gargan figure. Would you be opposed if they released her on a vintage card now?
