What the hell is that saying JANUARY?! The floor tags say November. I can't wait that effing long.

I would guess one of them was typed some time ago and something came up to change the information, question is, which is correct.

Well, they showed the Vader funeral pyre and it's a piece we might not ever even get. Lots of things being shown at the con won't be shipping until early 2011.

Re: Star Wars Vintage Collection Series

I'm very close to throwing in the towel on the 3.75 inch line minus the upcoming Jabba set and Mugg 3 packs. Focusing more on sideshow and GG. Hasbro will continue this line forever, but I've got to step aside.

It really makes me sick that some of the figures I've waited forever for, and would compliment the soon to be available Jabba set, may not be out until NEXT year.

I read that Waves 1-4 will be released throughout the rest of this year and that the start of 2011 will have Waves 5 and 6. Sort of makes sense, because usually Hasbro SW Waves come out every 6 weeks or so.

August 1 Sean, that's what the placard said and that is when I start hounding all three Wal Marts around here. This sucker isn't even showing on freaking eBay though!

I know, I checked eBay the other day. I've been hoping for a good ROTJ Jabba from Hasbro with their improved technology since the '97 SE version, mainly it was over the paint job of the '83 but sculpts and all have come a long way too, but my '83 is pretty much monotone, I've seen photos of some that have a bigger contrast in his colors, and I can sort of tell on mine that they tried it, but it doesn't really show for me and Jabba doesn't look right without being the two shades. The Ultra was a step in the right direction, I was pretty happy with the paint but not the sculpt, especially since it was a rehashed Ep1 sculpt that had the man ****s instead of random fat rolls like Jedi, and that weird, perfectly flat tail just doesn't look natural. This Jabba rock, definitely be my #1 favorite Kenner/Hasbro Jabba.

I'd rank their Jabbas

1- 2010 Hasbro
2- 1983 Kenner
3- Clone Wars Jabba
4- Jabba Glob
5- Special Edition Jabba
6- Ultra Jabba
7- TPM Jabba with spit action (this actually would have been a great looking jabba if not for the mouth sculpt for the firing feature)

So I have a question that someone here could answer. Whats with the new "game" related stuff that seems to be comming with the figures? I know Wizards of the Coast dropped the Star Wars line so no more minis, atleast I heard. Did Hasbro try and pick it up and use the normal 3 3/4 figures as their game pieces?

How can you put the special edition Jabba ahead of the Ultra Jabba?

Overall execution and representation of the movie. Ultra Jabba is supposed to be ROTJ but really fails to look like him, I feel that the SE version did a better job of representing the Jabba it was supposed to. I based the list on how well the figures represent the Jabba from the movie they're supposed to and the overall quality of the figure. Quality is what takes the TPM Jabba down, overall it was great but that spitting action was a poor execution and hurt the overall quality, but the sculpt and paint were really nice.

I suppose you could argue that the sculpt on the Special Edition Jabba is more true to its source than the Ultra Jabba, but the Special Edition Jabba is a horrible figure in every other way.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the tiered tail and the extra plastic under the further parts, I had high hopes for the TPM one being able to act as a SE Jabba until that mouth function. Now I wouldn't get a good SE because I really don't care for the 2nd CGI version they used, not really a fan of either ANH Jabba design overall, but I really enjoyed him being added and of the two designs I like the first better, but TPM was the best Jabba outside of ROTJ.

Memnoch should be able to answer this.

i opened a fresh case at work and they were already punched.

Yea, I got a case from BBTS and they were punched. Annoyed I was - but it makes sense from a retailer friendly POV. The shelves would look quite a mess with all those chads on the shelves. Then you have the hanging chads, etc.

But on the flip side, the cases are incredibly light because of how eco friendly the vintage-esque packing is.
