Oh geez, just take a 15 minute break from here and read an Avengers or Batman book. Live up to that name :)

I know, but it will take me like a week or two to finish one comicbook. I wont have the patience for that. I prefer to watch a cartoon instead. btw I hate any anime or cartoons with subtitles. I can tell whats going on in the comics with the pics. :rotfl I wished I had time to sit down and read a comic. It might be fun. Maybe someday. :monkey3

Now, how does all this translate to comic versions of statues in a collectible market for people that buy $350+ statues? The general public is not out there buying these comic based statues despite the vibe you get on forums. There is no reporter in Access Hollywood telling you about the latest Sideshow statues the same way when a new iphone comes out.

If the forum has proved anything is that people don't need to know who they are buying a statue of. If it looks good statue collectors will buy it.
On the first point, I think general popularity translates pretty well to high end popularity. Certainly, I don't think DC fans are disproportionately more inclined to buy high end stuff than are Marvel fans. There are some licenses, like GI Joe, where that is more of a factor.

As for the second point, that's not really true. It is true that crummier pieces won't sell. But well done pieces of characters collectors don't care much for won't do very well, either. There are some exceptions to this, but the gift card list is full of extremely well done pieces.

?????? I'm not one to say how to spend your money, but you should at least read the wikipedia entry to some of the characters you buy.
Edit: How will it take a week to finish a comic book? It's 32 pages with PICTURES lol.

:slap oh....:rotfl thanks for the info. I might read a comic in the next 10 years if I find time. :monkey3

How can you not find the time? You have enough time to have 2000 posts on this forum in the last 5 months, but you can't pick up a comic book?

ridiculous

I only buy statues of characters I like in comics. If I like a statue and don't know the character I read back issues to make sure I like the. Before buying. I think somebody needs to get on marvel unlimited to get some backround.

Yeah, I guess I put Black Panther in a slightly different category because he is more independent in some ways--being king of Wakanda, leaving for long periods to do his own thing
pretty important "early" member...but there's too much of a BP/Storm connection these days for me to display him with the rest of my Avenger pieces
will keep him separate for now and display him with Storm when she arrives in January

I mean at least google the guy's name right? Lol

Oooo you could place him at the end of the Avengers line and Storm at the Beginning of the X-men Line, kinda like a link by Marriage....of course you're going to have to build a shelf large enough to hold 20 PF's, but it's worth it.:D

Well BP is in his late 90s/early 2000s Marvel Knights costume and Storm's in her 70s/early 80s original costume so their PF's don't really match each other despite SS having them in the same pic.

But at SDCC they had Storm with the other X-Men so I dont think it matters much to them. I'm putting BP with my Avengers and can't wait for Hawkeye to join. Plus Storm and BP are currently no longer married.

:)
I actually have 4 book shelves lined up "kitty corner" that could potentially hold about 16...so i probably could...but i won't :)
Not a fan of most of the X-Men PFs...i have the Gambit Ex (badass), Wolverine Reg and Cyclops Reg...the rest i don't care for at all
If i'm not happy with the Storm (Ex) when i get her in hand, i'll probably sell her
So the one side of that "20" piece display would look pretty bare :)

My ultimate goal is to have my complete Avengers lineup on one side and my complete JLA lineup along the other side :blissy

Hey me too but on another side the X-men too.:rock

I'm in the same position. I'm sure it would be the same price at least - it's not like it's a huge ES

thats where it gets tricky, the smaller es dont always mean its gonna be worth more but they sure help if it turns out to be a success later
