There isn't much to resolve at this point. What happens to Chalky and Nucky is about it. I don't think we'll see the Capone circus actually play out.

yeah unless they bring in a new nemesis like they have for every other season, I have a feeling this season will be just a big let down. Sad as I really enjoyed it up to this point. hope they prove me wrong.

Well...I would like to see the resolution to the stories of Van Alden, Rothstein, Margaret, Meyer Lansky, Lucky Luciano, Chalky, Nucky, Eli, Will, Capone, Narcisse, etc.

There's also the issue of what will happen to Tommy now that Richard's dead.

None of them are really at a stable point in the show except maybe Capone and Van Alden.

But yeah, if the show is taking place several years in the future they could simply state what has happened to certain characters rather than letting us watch the events unfold.

No one else watching the final season? I'm liking it so far; it's good to see that the Capone storyline hasn't been pushed into the background. Also finding the scenes showing Nucky's beginnings quite interesting. Only four more eps left.

I'm watching it, just not finding it very compelling. The time jump is really odd for me. It seemed like last season left the characters in an interesting place, so then this season just jumps forward 6 years, and we assume that all the characters just kind of spun their wheels?? I don't know, the fact that Chalky had six years to build himself back up and didn't seems odd to me. While Narcisse was effectively neutered last season, he seems to back in the lap of luxury when we briefly checked in on him.

I just didn't like that they jumped forward a significant chunk of time and didn't explain what happened, and it seemed like not a lot changed in that time.

Hmmm, didn't even know that this was on again. Will have to catch up. though not liking how I'm hearing the story has gone for a final season.....

The flashbacks are nice but they kind of seem unnecessary at this point. Can't say I've learned anything about Nucky that I didn't know before. With only 8 episodes, I have to agree with those that think the time could've been better spent elsewhere. The time jump from last season is also really disorientating. I'm still enjoying it but once I've watched these a couple times, I don't think I'll need to revisit them. I'm happy with seasons 1 and 2 on blu-ray. It's a nice story arc and doesn't really require seasons 3 - 5 to feel complete.

I'm watching it but just to close it out. Don't care this year. The best characters are already dead. Stupid Terence Winter. Didn't work for Howard Gordon on 24 and Homeland, won't work here.

Heading towards a Godfather ending...

And Deputy Nucky's impression of old Nucky was spot on.

Yeah, glad someone else felt the same. I thought it was an amazing likeness. Didn't feel forced at all. Also like the Commodore. Glad we're past Kid Nucky (as good as the kid was -- he was also well cast) and on to something new. Have to say I'm really looking forward to how this closes out.

Anyone else reminded of Mike from Breaking Bad when the sheriff gave Nucky his "Don't make me do my job. Because I will." speech from last episode?

Fantastic show, tonight. The flashbacks are really paying off the last couple of episodes (DO NOT click spoiler tag if you haven't seen this episode).

Holy ****, what a devastating episode. Both Van Alden and Chalky, dead. :( Glad to see the old Van Alden back, though (alas, too late), and Chalky really redeemed himself. Finally feeling like the last season, sadly.

Well damn. I figured Nucky would make it out. Was Tommy mentioned before?

Overall, I liked the series.

Was Tommy mentioned before?

He was the kid that Richard wisked off at the end of Season 3, he'd been around for the previous 3 seasons.

Didn't think that loose end would be tied up.

Very nice ending. Bringing Tommy back was nice surprise. I was sad to see Nucky go but he did a lot of horrible things over his reign. This show provided us with some very memorable characters. Didn't like the 7 year time jump but I did really like the show overall.

Yep, they ended it about as well as could be expected. Liked Capone's talk with his son and the reference (I think) to season 3, with having his fists up. I never liked Gillian but felt sorry for her. Wasn't sure if her asking for Nucky's assistance standing up was a trap and she would shiv him or something, but the allusion to it being from the doctor attempting to root out her psychological problems via surgery is pretty haunting. And in regards to Tommy, knew it was a bad call killing Jimmy! Overall, good series and glad I watched.
