I thought it was a great episode. Don't know what the problem was. The real finale is always episode 9.

Anyway, the wolf head was attached differently from that spoiler posted earlier. What's that about? So ****ed up to see. Either way I think the attachment was more realistic in the show than the book anyway. In the book it was said it was sewn on.

I like the gloating scene with Frey and Bolton. That wasn't in the book, nice addition.

I think as a whole next season will be more entertaining for those complaining about this season. Nothing as shocking as the Red Wedding though. I don't think anything compares to that from here on out. So far at least.

At least next season there will be little less complaining that only the good folks "get it".

I thought they showed a LOT of restraint with this episode (in a good way), rather than trying to top the Red Wedding with a big cliff hanger, they used the episode to show the aftermath of the slaughter at The Twins, and to ever so carefully reposition the playing pieces on the board for S4.

The more I think about it, the more I think it was a good choice.

While some episodes are obviously more enthralling than others, every episode of Game of Thrones is great to me. Great writing, great acting, great production values...I can't get enough of this series.

Sucks that we have to wait another year to see Game of Thrones again. Since A Storm of Swords is the basis of seasons 3 and 4, I guess I’ll have to forego my usual plan to read the corresponding book after the corresponding season has concluded; I like being surprised by the show.

At least the upcoming seasons seem to be moving up to an earlier premier date, albeit not by much. Episode 1 of Season 1 aired on 4/17/11, Episode 1 of Season 2 aired on 4/1/12, and Episode 3 of Season 3 aired on 3/31/13.

In the books did Bran tell the story about the Rat Cook, who was cursed by the gods for killing a guest in his house? Since a few of you book readers wanted the guest rights to featured a little more prominently, I wonder if the show creators wrote that scene in to deal with the aftermath. Excellent pacing by the show creators, to have Bran tell that story and cut to the scene between Walder Frey and Roose Bolton. I hope that’s foreshadowing for the future.

Bolton’s reward for his treachery against the Starks is being named the Warden of the North. Tywin Lannister is the Warden of the West and Robin Arryn is the Warden of the East, correct? I forget, who’s the Warden of the South again?

Glad it was confirmed that the Blackfish escaped. It would be cool to have him and Arya join together to avenge all the Stark and Tully deaths…although I know that won’t happen.

Man, this series is so well written, especially when scenes with certain characters mirror the journey of other separate characters as well. I like the scene between Tywin and Tyrion, where he tells Tyrion that a man’s duty is the better his family’s station / class, despite his personal desires. Surely an allegory for Robb Stark.

Awkward reunion scene of the year goes to Cersei and Jaime and the poignant music that played in the background when the two lovers were re-united. One could almost forget for a second that they weren’t incestuous twins. :lol

Arya and The Hound have become a very cool spin on Lone Wolf and Cub. I know it won't last, but damn it's cool while it does.

Joffrey vs. Tywin and getting "sent to bed without dinner". classic.

Sam is growing up. Nice to see.

A good season and a long wait for next year.
Dani needs to get her cute *** on a boat and cross the Narrow Sea. I feel like her story is stalling.

Dude, Jack Gleeson aka Joffrey Baratheon should reprise the role of "Isaac" from children of the corn.....strike while the iron is hot...just saying.:lol

Phenomenal episode and easily my favorite of the season.

Best moments for me:

1. When Maester Aemon Targaryen said "We had 44 ravens at last count? Make sure they're all fed. Every one of them flys tonight."

2. The dialogue between Arya and The Hound, and when she sliced the **** out of that bastard.

3. Theon's sister going against their father and gathering the most dangerous men she could find to sail to Theon's rescue.

"I'm going to pick the fastest ship in our fleet. I'm going to choose the fifty best killers on the Iron Islands. I'm going to sail up the Narrow Sea, all the way to the Weeping Water. I'm going to march on the Dreadfort. I'm going to find my little brother. And I am going to bring him home."

4. And lastly, Daenerys being held and called "Mother" by all of the freed slaves, and seeing her dragons flying around of course.

I had chills through all of these scenes. Greatest show that ever was or will be. :monkey2

Now we have to wait a whole year for another measly ten episodes. :thud: :banghead

Yep, felt the same way about last night's episode, Lar'ja. Looking forward to rewatching, tonight. Unrelated, but I was surprised that they didn't deal with one thing...

I wonder why they didn't show Catelyn's body being thrown into the river, in mockery of the Tully funeral tradition (and as a set-up for Lady Stoneheart)? Thought this would've been the show to do it as it'll seem maybe out of place, next season? Also wonder if Michelle Fairley wants to come back in that role considering how limited it would be, in regards to scenes, dialog and being subjected to extensive make-up.

I doubt she has anything better to do

I agree. You'd think they would have shown that if they're going to use that storyline next season. Then again maybe more of a surprise for non-book readers to reveal her first (likely at the tail end of an episode) then have Thoros explain what happened in the next?
