The big payoff is watching Cersei lose her sh-- when Tyrion tells her he's arranged for her daughter Myrcella's marriage. All the more satisfying after watching Cersei's indifference to Sansa's emotional deterioration. Better still knowing that Myrcella was simply used as a tool by Tyrion and her fate was really quite random.

I think you're misjudging Tyrion. I really do think he wants to get the kids out of King's Landing if it falls, knowing what would happen to them, and he does care very much for them. I also don't believe her fate was random - all three scenarios Tyrion laid out would improve the position of the Lannisters. He didn't pick worthless marriages, he just picked three all of equal value to the family, so that it really didn't matter which one got back to Cersei.

He does it for both reason, it's a good political move and also to annoy Cersei

What it hasn't shown yet is that he's working as much as he can to prepare King's Landing for the inevitable battle that will be coming

I'm wondering if Arya giving the axe to the dude in the wagon will payoff for her and Gendry. Maybe he'll come back and save them. I can only hope.

Great episode tonight--- Love the adaptation so far of the second book. Lots of little changes, but they all work.

I love the way this series is generally grounded in a sense of reality, and then you'll get these very occasional magical D&D moments that catch you off guard and surprise you.

A little magic goes a long way. I don't want to see too much. If they can start waving wands to solve problems it undermines a lot of storytelling.

He's doing great...I agree it was another great episode. but I am disappointed on how little stuff Sandor (the Hound) is doing, he's basically my favorite character and I hope they don't cut out his scenes too much...

I just finished book 2 this afternoon. It was terrific. I do not remember the Joffery scene with the two chicks... they are really making him out to be an evil little punk. Love it!

There are definitely little changes but I think they are all done to speed up the story. There are only 6 episodes left and there is a TON of story left.

Yeah, I'm a little worried that there will be a lot missing from the end of the second book, that it a LOT to put into six episodes.

The scene with Joffrey and the women was new.
I don't recall Littlefinger visiting Cat at Storm's End, but I do remember her receiving Ned's bones. Did he actually deliver them in the book?

Harrenhal looked nothing like I imagined, but 100% the way it should. Qarth, on the other hand, is exactly the way I pictured it. I'm excited to see how they handle what's in store for Dany in Qarth. :)
