Yeah, any character that you start liking and attached too ends up dead.

Probably much ado about nothing, but I like the similarity between Dany and Bran. Dany comes out and said that her dreams come true; she dreamt that she walked into the fire with the petrified dragon eggs and was unharmed and the dragons hatched; a literal dream/

Bran dreams of the ocean overcoming the walls of Winterfell and of Ser rodrick being one of the drowned bodies; a more metaphorical dream, but one that also came true.

Interesting.

Rotting as a captive with Robb's army. I'm thinking he gets some screen time soon, the previews for the season showed a scene were he was getting kicked around by some peasants.

I am enjoying the show but I can't believe how many changes there have been the past couple of weeks. I get the feeling that all of the end results will be the same but SO MANY differences!! Again, I know the writers have to speed up the story since they only have 10 hours to work with... I just hope they don't change any of the character's paths or fates.

Jamie had some fantastic screen time tonight!!

So, who still thinks Theon might turn out to be good?

He looked quite surprised when the charred bodies were hung up in next weeks previews. I hope that is the slap in the he needs to wake up to what he's become. I'm still not holding out much hope for that though. He seems like his only mission is to be daddy's #1 child.

I think Theon will pay the Iron Price for his actions.

I loved the scene where Tyrion and Cersei are talking - "It's hard to put a leash on a dog once you've put a crown on his head". Tyrion says at least her other children turned out decent. You almost sympathize for Cersei for a moment. Tyrion clearly thinks about giving her a hug but just can't bring himself to do it.

Nice cameo by Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru. I wouldn't have pegged Theon as a Star Wars fan.

Excuse me while I dismiss the man who could best identify the Stark boys so I can turn up later with the unrecognizably charred bodies of two critical characters who apparently died off screen. Is Theon that desperate to be taken seriously? Or is he just stupid? Or both? Hope he gets what he deserves.

You can't fool me that easily. If they really killed and burned the Stark heir and spare without putting that drama and tension on the screen, I will lose all respect for the show. Starks die in front of a camera or not at all--if you want to trick me, bring out Osha and Hodor to at least make it seem plausible. (By the way, thanks for establishing that the farmer had kids to really fill in the blanks for me.) That was a weak cliffhanger because it was so transparent.

I'm about halfway through season 1. It's good, but I'm having a hard time trying to keep track of all the characters and plots and deceptions. Perhaps it is not the appropriate term, but everyone has a Machiavellian nature.

Of course those aren't the Stark boys. It's not even a good bluff.

Wait until you hit season 2. We have so many characters now some only appear every other week.

Season 3 needs to be 13-15 episodes. Cramming this much into 10 episodes is not going to work going forward.

Book 3 is going to be split across season 3 and 4, so it shouldn't be rushed.

That's why they shouldn't have used it as a cliffhanger. We all know better.

That's one of the things with stories, it's hard to believe someone is killed off when they focus on them so much.

At least it wasn't as harsh as it was in the book, it has the chapter where Theon goes searching for them, then the next chapter is Tyrion and he's talking to Cersei and casually mentions their deaths and it's like "What?!?! when did that happen?"
