Pricing and materials are irrelevant to my point. I was saying why I understand someone would be unsatisfied with an HCG paint app.

Also the materials do make a difference, it's like asking a painter to paint a painting in two different materials and moaning when they are not of the same quality.

But I don't see the difference between say the HCG Nemesis statue and Sideshow commander Shepard statue in terms of quality.
Just seems like because it's "Sideshow" that they are immune to bad paint apps yet every HCG RE statue has a bad paint app.

sideshow aremore miss than hit. but this is a sideshow forum so there will be a favoring towards them. ive had 3 hcg items and they were all hits

No not hostile just trying to understand the HCG bad paint job thing like I said my experiences with a bad paint job was smudges finger prints ect.
I don't know how much detail HCG could add to the Chris statue I'm looking at right now just looks like a really good interpretation of Chris to me and Capcom does have to authorise every statue HCG release, I read one of the sculpters for HCG said Capcom wanted Jills nose the way it is ect.
The only criticism I have is the badges on zombie cop could of been done abit better but that is my only criticism and I own 5 HCG RE statues and I will be adding Jill to that list.

I don't think that's what people are referring to when they say, "bad paint job". They're referencing the detail. Their human figures are considerably less detailed and less realistic then a HT figure. This is undeniable. Their creatures(Licker, Axeman, Nemesis), however are right up there with the best of them. Nemesis to a lesser extent, but the other two had me impressed the minute i opened the box.

Unless I'm mistaken, you don't own any HT figures? is that correct? Perhaps if you did, it would be easier to understand. I could provide pictures, but going back to a point you made earlier, seeing it in person is a lot different than seeing a picture online. Which is applicable to both HCG and HT products.

Keep in mind, I'm strictly speaking about Human characters Headsculpt paint apps. Not creatures or clothing.

I see your views, I don't own any hot toys but have seen hot toys in person and the detail is incredible on them but I don't personally believe you can expect hot toy detail to be put on a polystone statue.
If you could point a standard polystone statue out to me that would be better.

I think I'll let the poster, who made the original comment search out polystone statue comparison pics if he so chooses. As I wasn't ever saying HCG paint apps suck compared to other companies statues. My comparisons were mostly in regards to HT figures.
