I just cannot decide which version of Jack Sparrow to get.:dunno

I really like the cannibal head jack, but the grinning head I'm not sure of.
I like the stern look of the first version Jack but, have read on here that the skin tone is very dark, and the two beard braids don't look like they blend very well to the chin.
The cannibal Jack doesn't come with an outer coat either does he?

As I am nearly 33 I cannot decide this on my own and require input on this.

I know I can count on my fellow freaks to guide me :grouphug

Ive been wondering the same thing. I like the alternate head on the canibal jack but he has no jacket. Not sure what to do

Two heads are better than one.....A loose Sparrow jacket will eventually make it's way on eBay one day.

I bought the original Jack when he came out, so I just ordered a smiling sculpt loose on ebay for $35. Best way to have it all. I knew I wouldn't display him as Cannibal Jack anyway, even though it is a unique look.

I wanted accuracy and the best life like representation, thus the Cannibal Jack figure is the best out there IMO. Displaying him with his Cannibal Jack head is a must for me. Small scene be dammed, that is one kick ass portrait! Love the toe neckless as well.

the jacket doesnt even look very good IMO. i dont even use it. i have both figures and i like em both the same. the question is can you live without his hat. Jack's hat is much more iconic to the character than the jacket.

I have the original Jack and I must say, it's an amazing figure. The sculpt and tailoring are superb. The only downside is the darker skin tone. I've been thinking about contacting some of the customizers on this board to see if they are able to make more 'white'.:lol Besides, there's only so many things you can do with the cannibal Jack. The original one is the definitive Jack, IMO.:lecture

thanks for the feedback guys.

are the beard braids as bad as this on the actual figure? cos these look terrible

no way man. mine blend in nicely. that's the proto pic i think. you can still tell they are attached from up close but there isnt a big gap like that. at least on mine anyway.

thanx Craw, that picture is what's really putting me off the first version.

It looks like that on ALL of the Jack Sparrow figures. Just looks worse in that shot, it's not really noticeable in person.

And Carbo... I just repainted my Jack... here are a few pics really quick..

Why not get BOTH if you have the cash?

Jack Sparrow v1 can go around $90...a huge drop from his original $130 (or was it $150?) price tag. Perhaps even lower than that as he isn't really a 'hot' figure.

I have the original and you can't even see the braid issue. I'll stay with the original because it will be posed alongside Davey whe he arrives Tuesday.

I just picked up the V1 Jack yesterday and I am very satisfied with it. the detail is great and all of the extras are great. I do wish it had the smirk of the second head on the cannibal version. Oh well, I may try to get one off of ebay or something, but then again I might not.

If you want a truly iconic Jack Sparrow, repaint the Cannibal King head with the fearful expression and put it on the first version figure. I'm just waiting for the Cannibal King head to arrive and I'll post photos when I'm done.
