Assuming that a force ghost projects an image of themselves as a "whole" being in the force (ie Anakin without his scars, Ben and Yoda at their most powerful as old sages) wouldn't it follow that Luke's force ghost would project the face BEFORE Mark Hamill's face was damaged?

Just a geek thought... I think I may have found a reason to buy another Yavin Luke.... Hmmmmm....

Does anakin have the facial scar in SE? I've never really watched it that closely.

And at what point would your spirit choose to look like, young before completing his training or at the time when he became a Jedi?

I still fall in line with the force ghost appears as either the viewer wants to see them or the ghost wants to be seen.

Otherwise, why would Obi-Wan and Yoda appear old. Being old isn't as "whole" as being young because the body naturally decays over its life.

So anyway, I think either Luke saw the 3 as Luke wanted to see them or the 3 appeared to Luke as they wanted to be seen.

If you spend money on another Yavin Luke before you buy Jabba ...................:maul

Though no one could deny that Obi-Wan had a trick or two in old age that he didn't have in the ROTS timeframe, I don't see that he was more powerful.

"Ben" couldn't have taken down Grievous or defeated young Anakin. In his old age, he likely would've had a hard time with that overrated wannabe, Darth Maul.

I don't think to a Jedi age would matter. That would show too much vanity. I think Ben and Yoda perceived their lives as pre-empire Jedi as not being in the living force. So perhaps they considered their exile as when they were "true" jedi?

I dunno. :dunno

and yes G-boy, Anakin has no scars at the end of ROTJ.

This is like SNL...

"Geek" Thoughts... by Pixletwin.

You should do a series of these. :)

If it goes by when you are the most powerful, then Luke would be damaged... he wasn't a Jedi before his Wampa accident.

Again, I don't think the force has anything to do with how high you can jump or how you could/could not beat. My view of the force is a bit more zen. :lol

That would be a good excuse to keep the original ending to ROTJ and not add Hayden.

I still choose the original ending. The original ending supports that the ghosts appear as Luke would have wanted to see them.

The SE: DVD ending is probably as they wanted to be seen.

Anakin...still being pretty vane in the afterlife choosing to show himself as a youngster with the wiser Obi-Wan and Yoda accepting their age.

Also, if you consider the force to be more Zen than physical strength or power then Anakin definately acheived the most Zen when he destroyed the Emperor and reconciled with Luke which therefore makes him more "whole in the force" as an older man and therefore the SE : DVD is a fricken rape of dekdave and all our childhoods.

Now thats a whole-nuther can o' worms. :lol

Ah, Pix our Spirit form argument rises again! :lol

If they are supposed to be at their most powerful, then I'd say Luke as he looked in RotJ. Of course, it could be said Vader was the most powerful when he finally broke the bonds of the Dark Side when he killed the Emperor.

Like you know, I'm a fan of consistancy. I want them all YOUNG looking, or all OLD looking. I'm not a fan of the mix and matching. A young Yoda would have been cool to see. I think this is one of those issues where it is really up to the individual to decide because of the inclusion of Hayden in RotJ (which I hate in the movie, but I love your custom Pix).

I think you show up to people as the ghosts wish to be seen. If Luke saw ROTS Ben while freezing on Hoth , he probably wouldn't have recognized him. Perehaps Anakin wanted Luke to him as a young man at the end of ROTJ, when he was a noble Jedi and not a Sith?

Anakin reached top form when he beat Sebulba in the pod race. Like Cory Feldman after Goonies his life just went downhill from there. I think George needs to composite some screentest shots of little Jake Lloyd in the next ROTJ release. I think he needs lines too. Maybe there are some dialog from the casting they can use.

Didn't take long for that argument to resurface :lol

I would still vote for the older look for Luke, just seems more Jedi spirit than his farmboy days.

Kinda like an AOTC Anakin wouldn't be a good spirit form either.

Does that mean we'll soon see a new reality show starring Hayden and Sebastian Shaw called "The two ghost Anakins"?

Hey it's my 900th post!!!!

I think Gboy is right. That version of Luke would be too young... oh well... Ideally though, I would like a mature Luke with no head damage... ie what would Luke have looked like in ROTJ had Mark Hamill not gotten in that bike accident.

I like the way Hamill looked in the later films. Its not like we had a choice in the matter (and I'm sure he'd prefer it the other way) but he seemed much more real in those movies and his face became more unique.

Definitely a big change from a boy to adult, but fitting with his growth as a character.

And be careful, if George overhears you he may just CGI out Luke's face and make him boyish through the entire trilogy... think of what it would do to Dave's childhood!?!

Unfortunately I think the accident really hurt Hamill's appearance by the time ROTJ came out.

In ESB he looked kinda rugged and tough but by ROTJ he looked like a faded rock star beyond his years.
