Ok Ill. I have just one question for you then... Do you believe Anakin had a ghost mechanical arm or a ghost flesh arm?

I'll go with neither, I think he'd just have a stub at the end where his arm was severed. However, if the scar missing was with intent not an LFL oversight, then he'd have a full human arm and his body would be devoid of imperfections.

Which is much more interesting, to me. Who wants to be a ghost and have a stump for an arm? :lol

Simply overlooked by Lucas' staff at the time of the reshoot. They had it right except for that small detail they missed.

I don't believe for one second that this was an overlooked detail. That was how he (GL) wanted it. That was how he released it on DVD. That was how he later released it to the premium cable channels in HD.

If it was something he overlooked in reshoots (which makes it sound like a last-second thing, but really he does extensive planned reshoots as part of his filmmaking method) he would've had his CGI wizards add some scars in somewhere along the way.

Okay, so if you guys are looking at it as though he were 'reset' so to speak, without imperfections then I'd buy that and him not having the scar and a flesh arm. I could live with that. :)

You're talking about the same guy who never reversed the backwards frames of Boba Fett in Jedi and Darth Vader in ANH; he may care about details, but he's also very good at missing them, or he doesn't care.

I understand what you are saying. I don't think its because he is sloppy. In fact every movie has slip ups like that. But I don't believe the scar less Anakin was a slip up.

To add to my previous thought, it makes sense after the events of RotJ he reconciles with Luke and finds goodness within his heart. He was redeemed and cleansed of all evil, made whole again and therefore appeared as a new Anakin in ghost form. :)

:monkey2 Ah, the ultimate happy ending...

Oh wait, no, the best happy ending is at my Asian massage parlor. This is second best.

2 insignificant backwards frames = the final appearance of the main character moments before the credits roll ending a 12-hour saga

:lol:lol

Lucas screwed up with the "Anakin" ghost.

It definitely should have been Jake Lloyd as the ghost, giving a rousing "Yippee!" cheer! (would have gone great with the X-wings shooting off fireworks and Lando's little jig dance...)

I heard that George is adding alternate endings to the ROTJ Super Ultimate Extreme Happy Show Joy Edition version of the OT to be released this afternoon on HD Mini VHS Divx format. ( Glad I was able to find a player on Ebay)

Alternate endings as are follow:

1. Luke sees....Young Anakin, Young Obi, TPM Yoda puppet, doesn't recognize anyone....movie ends.

2 Luke sees...Jake Lloyd, Jar Jar, Padme, more confusion ensues...movie ends

3. Luke sees....Harrison Ford's career take off...movie ends.

4. Luke sees... George Lucas holding two white bags with a big Red Dollar sign on each, laughing all the way to the bank....movie and my days of ever saving a buck due to collectibles ends.

5. Luke sees...Qui Gon and Mace( surely Yoda passed on Qui-Gons secret to Mace, no?)...movie ends.

6. Luke sees... Lando with two fine women ,one each arm, Lando's no fool, he doesn't party with Ewoks and Calamari's !! This is the party of the millennium, baby! The Empire has fallen!...Luke dances with an Ewok...movie ends.:monkey3

:rotfl:rotfl

You forgot:

Luke sees...Obi-Wan who tells him Leia really isn't his sister and that he just meant it from a "certain point of view" so that Luke would keep his head in the game against Vader.
