I intended to re-watch season one during the strike, and then buy season two and watch it to get ready. But I've been so busy I never got around to it. But I can't wait for tomorrow.

But watching the extras and where they were going with the season makes me really sad that we didn't get to see that. The alternate episode of Powerless was far better than what we saw - Nathan, Peter and Matt all really got to be Heroes in it, whereas in the final version - not so much.

I'm gonna have to check that out... Season 2 was just so blah feeling. I was really looking forward to it, but it felt so truncated, which it was, that it never really had much momentum. And the ending was pretty weak.

I think VOLUME 3 is going to win back tons of folks. This first episode alone (which they showed at SDCC) has several "holy crap!" moments.

That said, last season is so over-hated. I stand by my assertion that a lot of the stuff in the final 4-5 episodes was as good as anything in the first season.

The end of the season was definitely good imo, but for some reason the beginning when it was dragging always stands out in my mind when I think of season 2.

So, Mohinder's new ability is turning into Jeff Goldblum? Add that with the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants and this show is becoming less original by the minute.

Originality was never the show's strength to begin with. It's about interesting characters dealing with serialized subplots. The whole superpowers thing is just the window-dressing.

Volume 3 is off to a solid start.

I do hate Mohinder, though. Always have.

Yes, I know. I accepted that it was in essence an X-Men ripoff, but it's just getting blatant. Watching Mohinder doing Goldblum's scene from the Fly was cringe inducing. It reminds me of Sliders when they ran out of ideas and just started ripping off the plots from blockbuster movies.

Watching Mohinder do anything has been cringe-inducing since halfway through the first season.

I like the darker tone and quicker pace of this Volume so far. It's a return to form.

Yeah, when I first saw him hanging from the rafters I had that vision of Brundlefly :lol

Still, I really enjoyed the season opener... some parts still have that contrived feel to them, but all in all a good start. Looks like they will be relying heavily on messing with us as to who to root for and who to fear.

After that scene happened I though to myself "I bet by the end of the episode he's going to be in front of the bathroom mirror pulling body parts off" and damn if it didn't happen. :lol

I hoped it wouldn't happen... but it did. Still, I think we always know that if you screw with Super Science the repercussions can be dire :huh

Funny, when I saw Mohinder hanging from the ceiling I thought he was going to be Beast and expected him to start growing fur. Then when he climbed up the wall I expected I expected him to sprout extra arms. But then I've never seen the fly movie so that's probably why. Also I was thinking more along the lines of the fearsome five as opposed to the Brotherhood of Evil mutants.

I really enjoyed the two episodes, I didn't know there was going to be two, so the second was a great surprise. I think it's going to be a good season.
:woo

:doh Get thee to a video store and rent it... classic movie, one of the few really great remakes :lecture And after watching you'll instantly see what we're talking about.

You should check out The Fly, great horror movie. Mohinder's scene is pretty much verbatim from Jeff Goldblum's post transformation scene.

As for the baddies, I'm pretty sure they're going for the Brotherhood, right down to the German master of magnetism.

Ah, I couldn't see the trees for the forest. I focused on the scene mama Petrelli saw and thought of the Sinister Six and didn't notice how the powers go with the Brotherhood. Actually I forgot what the German guy could do, I wondered how he opened the car doors. It's bad enough I forget things halfway through the season, but forgetting things in two hours is just pathetic. :lol

I've just begun the second episode but SpiderMohinder kind of threw me off even though I knew he was coming. What was the timelapse from the Season Finale to the Season Opener? How did Maya learn English so fast? I loved the "Hadoken" that Ando gave Hiro though. How did Lindeman come back? Is he a vision of Nathan's? So Peter is trapped in another body? A new power of Peter's? Angela's visions allow her to be able to know the differences of Peter? Did Sylar remove Claire's Nerve endings when he mentioned them? Is Claire evolving? How did Sylar remove the power? So many questions.
