And now, a Message from the Mistress of the Web herself :zzwhip :

"I chose to release these items directly for those who religiously watch the newsletters each week. If I find something like this and there are no active Wait List reservations, I like to give newsletter members first dibs second chance. The system isn't perfect, when you run your own companies and have perfect Wait List systems, please let me know."

(and no, Lonnie, unfortunately there's no set time for Express Updates)

This was the first item listed in the newsletter after 'In this issue' titled 'Special/Sales'.

What's the big deal about changing it from two to one? If it were one, do you think it would change anything? I hear people saying yes it would, but if you wanted two it would be easy enough to arrange. Have a friend buy one, open a second account etc. No one has even mentioned how many of these were made available. Five? Ten? One hundred? How bad is this 'wrong' Sideshow has done?

For me what it boils down to is, if you were really into this line you would have bought it when it came up for pre-order. At the time you may have been influenced by the fact that many people complained that the likeness was crap. Whose fault is that? Was it peer group pressure? Are you a sheep? People are repeating what has been said in this thread over and over. Two should have been one. Baaa baaa baa.

If you're late into the market then whose fault is that? Sideshows? Because they didn't save one for all the people that might have wanted it in the future??? That sounds ridiculous doesn't it? Just as ridiculous as some of the things people have been saying, or 'reasons' they had for saying it in this thread. It is called whining because a release of frustration in verbal form is called whining. Disappointment in verbal form is whining.

Still, if you want these figures you will have to pay the secondary prices. Either you are a completist that can ill afford to be one, or you should resign yourself to never having them in your collection. It is called collecting. It means sometimes you have to play the game, not just pre-order everything. It means hunting, stalking, waiting, and in this case whining. Seems like collectors these days, that miss out on a Sideshow item rely too heavily on the wait list. The only thing Sideshow did wrong was to make some figures, that turned up, available to collectors through their newsletter. They could just have well changed to status on their site to 'In stock'. In fact, I suggest Sideshow do away with the wait list and just use the status indicator on their site. Stop doing favours for collectors. It isn't appreciated here. And don't do it again.

Half the time you missed out because something else was more important at the time. Expressing yourself after the fact is called whining. I read it all the time. I have to sell this to get that and I'll pick it up again later, down the line. That line has been drawn. Keep it or lose it. Down the line means your decision may be cause for whining.

What about someone who doesn't know the secondary value of these figures. I buy it for below retail because it is second hand. Am I a rip off merchant because I got a good deal? Seems to me this is more a fisherman mentality. Put it down to the one that got away. Curse you heavenly father for never allowing a Schnapper to take my bait.

What's done is done. We can go back to the way it was before the newsletter. I'm done whining.
