Actually, I was thinking of doing the opposite ... just Batman, no Joker. Batman is less expensive, and he works better as a stand-alone than Joker does. Joker isn't a standalone character in any medium. I think a Nicholson Joker surrounded by Nolan Batman figures and a Chris Reeve Superman would look weird. I don't think an '89 Batman would. You could put him opposite the Superman, and would actually fit nicely.

I am planning on buying this but not 89 Batman. Are others considering this too or is the majority buying both?

I wasn't going to get either one but now I am really considering getting Joker. For me the Joker is the main one to get since he is probably the #1 bad guy of all time while Batman looks nice he's kind of plain next to Joker.

Same here. Everything about them screams that they're a set. DX08 and DX09 are both from the same film, and they were both announced simultaneously, and, if the ETA is anything to go by, they'll be shipping the same way. Whether you choose Batman or the Joker, you're missing out if you don't get both.

Personally I feel this Joker is iconic enough to stand on its own. If not for Joker but for Jack Nicholson's likeness. And since I do not collect "comic related" figures this (will be my 1st comic character in collection) I feel that his bright colour scheme will be a welcome contribution to my generally blacks/whites/browns collection on figures.

Definitely getting both. Although Jack was amazing in the role it would seem weird to have just him and no Batman but if you just had Bats by himself on display it would still look great. I dunno... I think it would annoy me to have one without the other. It would always feel like something is missing and it would annoy me. Man I cant wait for these figures, that is going to be an awesome day. I may have to take off work

I only need the Joker. Bats would be awesome but I prefer Returns Batman. I can just display 89 joker with begins batman
