I'm with venakin. I haven't seen squat out of Tonner that's worth taking notice of. Medicom's actually done some pretty good stuff. Their RAH line certainly wasn't bad, especially their Ghost Rider. Their 1979 Alien is arguably one of the most accurate figures out there. Their VCD's are pretty cool. And, like RIDDICK said, lots of unique product and catering to the Asian market.

After seeing the stuff Tonner has put out, I guess their goal is to take existing stuff, but instead of replicating it realistically like HT, they "dollify" it. That just doesn't work. Reason why is because the clothing is well-done, but the sculpts don't make the cut due to their dollness. It's an unbalanced formula that doesn't turn out well. At this rate, we might as well say their aim is to make feminine versions of movie characters. Just look at their Jack Sparrow. Most... unappealing... concept... for a figure... ever.

:rotfl"Features a remarkable likeness of Clash of the Titans star Sam Worthington."

I still think the NECA figure is great for its size though. Much more film accurate.

Why didn't Tonner make an Io figure? She would be more of a main /core character than Andromeda.

Hot Toys should start promoting their figures by comparing theirs with their competitors. Just have all of them lined up together with a big bold text at the very top saying "Enough said".

I would image the Tonner stuff would mostly focused towards the gay market?!

lol. They seem to push for the dollifications of figures so I am guessing they are targeting the female market who wants these action figures without it looking like action figures?

Well, I think we can be certain that it's not aimed at the straight male market! :)

Well that concept isn't working on ME! :monkey4

That's because Ween is a serious collector like the rest of us who can tell the whole "remarkable likeness" text is laughable. Are there any boardies who like Tonner's stuff in general? The same way others would like Hot Toys?
