Very nice!

My Mark VI from Alter Ego Comics will be here tomorrow! 4/27

O YEAH! Keeping fingers crossed for it being perfect like my IV.

Damn Jedah you recieved Mark IV and your Mark VI days before me. And we both ordered from the same places. They must like you more.. lol.

With all the technology available today and the know-how of collectors, you'd think a proper 1/6th lightsaber would already exist.

Unfortunately, I have yet to find anyone that mass produces cathode tube sabers. They look incredible, but I'd never be able to make one myself.

However, the Mk IV - yes (goHastings), but you say that your Mk VI is coming from Alter Ego; mine was from CornerStoreComics.

Wouldn't it be funny if;
since my Mk VI is perfect, but my Mk IV has a blemish
then
Your Mk IV is perfect, but your Mk VI has a blemish?

No, seriously *knock on wood*. It'll be perfect, and you'll love it. :hi5:

Doesn't the Medicom 1/6 Darth Vader have a light up LED lightsaber?

Oh yeah when you speak of the rubber band method, was it with hot water or blow dryer?

On topic : If you guys had the chance to actually get the seller (who was also willing) to help you open your MK VI and check for any defects before sending it to you, would you guys allow it or the 'idea' of someone else opening your box first instead of you is somewhat unacceptable?

Yes, I would allow the sellers to open the box and grade my figures based on a universal scale.

It would cause the perfect ones to go for slightly more and the slightly off ones to go for cheaper. I actually wouldn't mind that.. but I'm sure it would be a lot of work to do so.

I hope the VI is PERFECT, I like that design A LOT more.

Some collectors are purely fussy perfectionists (like me) and I don't think it's a crime to be one haha

The trick though is to actually find a seller who is ALSO a hardcore collector and who can empathize with your plight and worries. Most sellers these days are just focused on the ka-ching and they don't have a clue as to the questions you ask them regarding defects and all they say in response is "It's MISB never opened before It's MISB never opened before".

Medicom Vader (either one) doesn't light up, no. The first mass produced Star Wars figure that comes with a light up lightsaber is the upcoming Luke that's being made by Medicom teamed up with Enterbay.

Hot Water.

And, it depends on who the seller is. Am I going to trust someone's word in a private sale?
Depends.
Am I going to depend on some faceless somebody that I don't know a couple thousand miles away that works for a major company?
Depends.

Jedah, great poses there!
Thank goodness you have a flawless Mk.VI to make up for the Mk.IV from gohastings.

Check out the upcoming PF Emperor to add to your Sith collection.

Thanks for sharing those pics.
You've got an awesome collection! :hi5:

Thanks, and it sure does.

I wish, but I've got to be really selective; and ol' Empy didn't make the cut.

N/P it's my pleasure, and thank you again. :hi5:

Finally got my hands on the Mark VI last night; they actually did a delivery attempt on Friday but I was out of town for the long weekend so had to pick it up at UPS last night. I do wish Cornerstore Comics wouldn't require a signature.

He's a great looking figure, I'd say easily the best looking Hot Toys figure I have. And after all the reports of missing pieces or damaged goods I was very worried something would be wrong with mine, but I was pleasantly surprised that all was in tact and in perfect condition. Well, almost. I had to take a razor blade to the inside of the hole where his left airbrake flaps tab into in order to get it to fit, and I've been completely unable to remove the right shoulder pad in order to swap it for the battle-damaged version. The thing is really stuck in there (I think the peg is too large), and even a hair-dryer didn't help free it. I'm afraid that the thin plastic shoulder pad will snap long before I'm able to pull the thing hard enough to get it out of the hole; if anyone has any suggestions I'd greatly appreciate it.

The finish on the figure is very impressive, as is the sheer number of accessories that this figure includes; it really shows how overpriced the Mark V is in terms of bang for the buck. The diorama stand is also surprisingly nice and useful (much nicer than the base the original Predator came with). All of his little gizmos and gadgets add a ton of display options, and all seem to work fairly well.

The only disappointing thing about this figure for me is the build quality; he's very light and fragile-feeling. I was really expecting him to be made of thicker plastic - something with some strength and weight to it. Every piece of him is very light and frail, which is a shame. He definitely looks more expensive than he feels. Compare him to a Hot Toys figure like Berserker Predator and it's hard to believe the same company manufactured both. Still though, as I said he looks great, and that's what's most important.

I plan to take some pics this week. He's a challenge to pose, so we'll see how it goes!

Flip the shoulder armor up and examine how the two pieces connect. Don't try to just pull. The peg fits in like this:

[.] with the . being the peg.

If you pull one of the ]'s open slightly, it comes out very easily, with no chance of breakage. It took me a little while to figure it out. Hope my cheesy diagrams make sense!

Thanks rubio95, makes perfect sense. I'll try that tonight!

With mine, I slide it down towards the bicep. Then pull it straight out. Snap the other one in at the same spot (low on the shoulder), then slide it up into place. Easy.

Success! I ordered the last one from AE last night and they shipped it out this morning! Now I must wait until next monday, so sad . . . so sad . . . Hoping for a flawless one.

Congrats on the score! :yess:

The wait will be well worth it.

Jedah Kalm, congrats on the score also! It is looking great man along with your collection! :hi5: War Machine and the Mark VI are finally together.

I got mine from CSC last week, but was finally able to open him last night. A few issues -

The BD Chest armor doesn't line up correctly on the right-hand side. There's a gap, but its fine on the left hand side.

The BD Faceplate doesn't line up on the light up head at all.

The airflaps on the back of the ankles seem incorrectly assembled, they don't fit in straight and look crooked no matter how many times I try to reposition them.

Other than that, its a cool figure. It does seem a more fragile and 'cheap' when compared to the Mark IV though. Still glad to have him though.

Great pics! Makes me wish HT would have put the full head RDJ sculpt in Mk VI, too.

So I heard the same about Mk IV- being lighter feeling than Mk III, So are we saying Mk VI is even LIGHTER than MK IV?? Any other comments?

I just got mine, ads I'm messing with it... his mit torso articulation seems kinda... off. also.. he seems kinda like a... bobble-torso? I'm guessing this isn't normal, but can someone confirm this for me?

ok.. so after messing with it for a little bit, it seems the torso has some sort of locking mechanisim? it can either be pulled up on to give a greater range of ( somewhat loose) lotion, or pushed down to "click" into place for standing upright? Am i figuring this out properly, or am i wrong and it's defective?
