Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

I think this is the perfect release for Bane. And I find him the best villain of the trilogy.

Sent from the Monolith.

Agreed.
For the past 6 months i have walked around my house, much to my girlfirends annoyance, saying things like 'perhapsch hesch wondering why you schoot a man.... before throwing him out of a plane'.

Joker for me was all about the performance of Ledger. How crazy good and memorable it was.

With Bane it felt more like a match for Batman and when they brawled the first time and Bane straight up demolished him. I was awestruck. Sitting in the cinema thinking 'holy **** wtf can batman do???' :crying

Hi mate! Where did you buy your DX12 ? I am waiting for Hottoys dealer bulk batch...:impatient:

My dealer's bulk batch. I POed 2 for $200 each :yess:

This figure feels like old news to me now so I forget Sideshow aren't actually shipping him till March so here's Neny's review

I kinda agree with his comments on most videos, but not this one.

How can he pay ebay prices ($250), and yet complain that HT should include more stuffs. I only PO this for like $130-135, and I think its a good value for my money.:yess:

And I dont think a Tom Hardy prison/unmasked sculpt is any use, as I dont think anyone would do that bash. Well, maybe void but still :lol

$135 for Bane? :thud: Congrats, buddy. that's great value for afigure that may not have come with a lot of accessories, but great likeness (IMO).

I paid twice as much that to get an early stock last weekend. Was stupid enough not to PO this, and seeing that the price would only go up, I panicked and bit the dust :panic:

I POed most of the regular stuff from my local dealer. Except for exclusive items, then via SS.

I used to go to the ebay route, but cant afford it no more since all of the HK sellers on ebay are used to deal with EU buyers :monkey2

I see. Our local dealers had this for $180 on PO, but POs here only last for a month, and slots are limited. Back then I was not sure if I'd PO Bane not because I wasn't happy with the protos, but because I just started the hobby and was cautious as to what figures to get. SS doesn't ship to our country :(

I got the early stock at a local store that gets 1-2 units of the early releases from HK, and sells them at a high price. Still cheaper compared to buying it from HK-based Ebay sellers though, as they are now selling them for $290 pre-order, and $350 for in-stock. I was spared from customs, too :)

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

The Legend jacket fits pretty well with a bit of tweaking...

I said a while back it was the 1/6th I am Legend jacket?:lol weirdo.

He's not. Firstly no one asked? I received PM's today and gave them a direct link when I could. Someone asked during the night, and Elvis answered this morning before me. Some of us are on different time zones? Sorry for giving you guys a heads up in an inappropriate manner, and not answering whilst i slept. Which in turn led to you having to look for it yourself on eBay? Seriously?!

:huh

Jesus, it's a bloody toy jacket, which in my first post I referred to as the "Legend" jacket, chill man.

Yeah, I thought you said "legend", not "I am legend". I had no idea what that meant. If you had actually said the full movie title I would have done some googling.

The thing is, this has happened before. You throw partial info out there, and then leave me/us hanging (sometimes despite repeated requests for clarification). It's probably not intentional, just a mannerism. A specific example? Well there have been several, but one that comes to mind is "*** tape". I had to ask an old lady at Walgreens what that was actually called so I could get some. It's actually a product called Fashon Tape, which they had, and I bought. :)

Did you ask the lady at the store for some '**** tape' though? :lol

Just send him a PM next time, which is what I always do and rory always helped me out :wave

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

you are paying $350 for Bane? Man that's crazier than ebay!

Ooops sorry to confuse you, man. I was referring to Ebay prices when I mentioned $290 for PO (stocks next month as per seller's claim) and $350 for in-stock, ready to ship figure.

I got mine for $270, which I guess is a better deal than Ebay, considering that I won't have to go through the inevitable custom fees too :)

I just have to get through this tough deadline and I'll get him outta that box ;)

270$ is expensive, but yeah, its way better than ebay price ATM. :hi5:

I have to be honest here Mags, I'm a little shocked and disappointed with your post.

What exactly are you *****ing about? That I didn't answer a question (precisely enough) which you never asked me?

Seriously?

P.M me perhaps?

The sense of self-entitlement on these boards gets me down sometimes.

I get constant PM's from people looking for advice on this and that, I ALWAYS answer every one of them, privately. I have even on occasion offered my modding services for free to a few of the decent people on here.

You need to understand two things Mags, the world is a big place, everyone is different and not everyone will communicate in a way that appeases your sensibilities. And it's pretty arrogant to expect people to keep in line with your seemingly meticulous mind. And regarding my time on the boards, which is none of your business by the way, I'm here in blocks of time, then not for longer periods. And for most of the year, I'm on a different time zone then most of the US freaks.
Am I supposed to apologise for posting something and not staying up all night answering questions? Again... Seriously??!

*** tape? yes, that's what I called it, i don't know it by any other name, no idea it's called "fashion tape" in US. So I somehow misled you by not providing the correctly filed name and bar code number?

How about you just say thanks for the tip and recommendation?

:slap

:exactly:
No, he didn't send me a PM to ask. If he did I would have gone back through my ebay account and given him a link.

The only PM I think I've ever received from Mags was asking about the eyelid mod on DX12, and here's the rub, I offered to do it for him for free!
I don't think he likes to be seen for asking advice, but thats just my own opinion.

Now Mags, help me here. Please take any other *****ing or snipping or for that matter genuine questions and inquiries to PM.
I don't think anyone else here is really interested in reading this drama queen dialogue?

:peace

I searched "1/6 Legend jacket" on Ebay and found it right away. :dunno

I didnt need a specific name to find it.

Very nice,Rory. I gotta admit, this figure is seriously growing on me. Im not a TDKR fan so I almost want to hate the figure but this ting turned out nice. The likeness is fantastic. I looked up the jacket and I can't find it parted out, only with the outfit. If you don't mind me asking, what did you end up paying for it?

It's a beautiful figure, I really didn't expect to like it as much.
Around $45. It's very nicely made actually, soft and actually feels like leather. Needs some modding. Elvis has done a wonderful job with his, this needs some work on the belt and colour.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

Yes, this figure turned out really well. Rorywan's photo (wearing the Legend jacket) having the soft focus on the face ironically made the headsculpt seem more life-like.

Anyone tried putting on the long coat on top of the vest-sweatshirt combo? I remember Bane taking off the coat before his final battle with Batman, revealing his sweater. Just wondering if the coat would still fit well.
