My Bane came today... and I sadly don't even want to open it. I called and left a message with SS... we shall see...

(As much as we're enjoying people quoting the images over and over, I've removed them)
If you have other spare hands from other figures, just use a gripping one to hold the mask.
Sideshow used to double box stuff. Looks like they don't even care anymore either.
BBTS double boxes if you pay extra, right?
Nope. They double box as standard shipping.

Personally I've only had a handful of dings with the current method, so the problem is most like your local carriers

Sideshow double boxed a figure of mine years ago (without me having to ask for the pack out option). Other than that rare instance, they've always shipped them out in the Hot Toys/Sideshow mailer (unless you pay an additional $10, in which case the double box it).
I've really never agreed with that decision, especially when other companies like BBTS and Cornerstorecomics double box it for nothing. They don't charge an additional fee. I mean, that mailer box isn't really enough some times, especially if you're far away from California.
The thing that REALLY bugs me is that people can see what the item is. I mean, I keep thinking about this. Imagine it. When my '89 Batmobile ships from them, not only will it be huge, but it'll read,
"1989 BATMAN BATMOBILE COLLECTIBLE"
That just begs to be messed with.
